On Weight Watchers...

Question Posted Wednesday January 19 2005, 12:11 pm

I was on Weight Watchers and I am now down to my goal weight (125 pounds). I want to stay at this weight. I was having 20 points a day (about 1,200 calories). I am a 5'4 female...by how much should I increase my point intake to stay at 125 pounds without gaining or losing?

You can increase your points to about a few points points a day. My mom was on Weight Watchers before and she had this pamphlet that told how much points you can increase to stay at a certain weight. Hope I helped :)

I would stay right where you are and see if you lose any more weight. Your gains diminish the more you lose. It might be quite possible that you won't lose anymore weight with your current caloric intake, but would gain if you increased it. I'd wait it out a month and see what happens if you continue to lose then you could increase it 150 calories but I don't think you'll see anymore significant drop where you're at. The problem with weight watchers is they suck you into their diet and you don't know exactly what to do afterwards as you are experiencing now. I do like the fact that you are looking at calories(which is their system) because afterall it is how many calories you burn to how many you take in that deals with weight loss/increase. What kinds of oils do you use. I'd reccomend cutting all vegetable oils out except coconut and olive. Coconut oil actually stimulates your thyroid and has 40% less calories then other oils. Try it. It tastes great and you probably could increase your caloric intake without affecting your plan. Do you east weight watchers food? I'd try to figure out the caloric comparisons in their food to regular food so you can get off their food. It's expensive and not practical for the rest of your life. Anyway I guess I answered more than you asked but such is life. And most importantly CONGRATULATIONS! It's awesome that you hit your goal weight. It takes a lot of discipline and hard work to get there. You deserve a big pat on the back. Hope this was helpful. That's my advice.

Increase your point intake by 5 if you start to gain weight then cut the point intake back. If you do this you will find the ideal point intake for you to keep your desired weight.

my mom did weight watchers too and she lost a lot of weight. keep excercising daily and eating healthy i would stay between 20-25 points just remember everything they told you , this is where the hard part comes, maintaining, but you'll be fine if you remember what they told you good luck.

I checked your BMI, if you stay around 1800 calories, you should be good.
