Question Posted Sunday January 16 2005, 2:29 am

I never really wear make-up, because I don't think it looks good on me at all. Does anyone know of any colors I should be using or colors that would look good on me? I have black hair and brown eyes, and I have very white skin.

Try using like light eyeshadows, go for the natural look. You could try using like light pink, anything light would look great! And try using like a brown mascara and you could also curl your eyelashes if you want.. anyone can do that! And just use clear lipgloss, don't use any bronzer or blush. If you need coverup, go right ahead, just get the right color. If you're still having trouble, usually they help you in magazines, like what color would look best on your skin color! Try looking through like YM or Seventeen, any of those magazines! I hope this helps and good luck hun! If you still need help, just post a message in my inbox.

xoxo Kourtney

I think you should use a skin tone tan. Tan eyeshadows are really in. (tan is my favorite kind). you can get some really good eyeshadoe at a store called 5below (i dont know if you ever heard of that store but if has a lot of really good eyeshadow) (and EVERYTHING in the store is 1-5 dollars)
good luck!

You could probably use lighter pinks (eyeshadow) Ivory or classic ivory for powder, for blush you could use a light pink, for lip stick, well I use gloss, but I use this brownish color (I have brown hair, bluish greenish grayish eyes they change colors) and I use shimmer powder, and black or brown eyeliner (I heard some people use like purple, but I don't know about that) and then black mascara. And for eyeliner, I think the pencil is better, but that's only because I suck at using the liquid kind because I always get it in my eye and then I can't see for like an hour out of that eye. But ummm, if you have an older sister, or even a younger sister that uses make up ask them to help for the first few times. My sister use to help me with mine, but now I can do it all by my self haha. Good luck.

Taken from 'The Complete Beauty Book - dark hair and pale skin':

The strong contrast between your hair and skin means that dramatic make-up suits you best. If there's one colouring that can really carry off both dark eyes and strong lips it's yours. in fact, you break all the rules. While the shades in your skin tone (normally pinks, ivories and blues) will look good, contrast looks even better - particularly in the evening, when cool-toned, dark, smoky eyes (slate greys or bitter chocolate browns) and bright fuchsia or crimson lips will create the ultimate sophisticated look. Whatever you do, keep your blusher pale pink - sugary or rose tones are the most flattering. And don't forget lashes and brows - they are vital to frame striking looks.

Yeah I got that out of this book I have, it also says that your best eye colours are cool grey, black, ivory, silver and rich plum. Your best blush colours are sugary or rose pink and your best lipsticks are fuchsia pinks, crimson reds, deep plums or mauves.

I hope all that helped you in some small way.

pale colors to compliment your skin, when you hav pale skin and darker hair, it's best not to go any darker than a pale pink. I know... I can't go too dark either cuz I'm so pale.

Good luck!
