What should i do?
My room is purple. I have a couple things hanging from the cieling an a really cute bed spread. I want some more ideas on how i can make it more decorative. Like what kind of stuff i need on my walls mostly. What colors i need, and stuff like that. i have carpet now, but i want hard wood floors. shoudl i get a light colored wood, or a dark? shoul di put a rug over it? a small on in the middle? or just leave it uncovered? I have no idea what to do i just want my room to be really cute. Please make any suggestions, i could use ANY help that you willing to give weather its a little thing or big.-->ME!

I have a purple room and hard wood floors,and a medium or dark wood will looke the best. As for the things on your wall i would say you should put up black and white pictures of your favorite idol, Like I LOVE Marlyn Monroe and I have black and white photos of her with black picture frames. It Looks really classy but still really girly. And you can do it with any of your favorite actresses of singers.

if you want wood floors and your room is a dark color go with a more medium toned wood, because a dark wood cant be to dark and grim and it may feel more cramped, a light tone with a dark room will be awkward, a medium tone will work best,
as for the wall artsie things like reprints of famouse artists like monet and van gogh always make a room look nice and more sophisticated, if that is not you style then go to a store like micheals or joanns and find some great prints,or you could paint or draw something your self and frame it, you dont have to be a great artist for it to look great and your room will be more personal,you should also try taking some pictures you have and drawing/painting them yourself, itll be fun for you and your friends to see,you can also put pictures on paper and paint around them.

How bou't going to target or walmart. In the decartion section they have a lot of cute purple stuff. Try making it your own paridise. Put pictures of HOT guys! I did it it really maked my room my own place!

If you are going to get a hardwood floor, I recommend a rug that runs most of the way from the bed to the door. Because waking up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom and stepping on a freezing floor isn't fun. :)
Things to keep in mind: predominately dark colors will make a room look smaller, bright colors will make it look larger. Make sure you don't forget about where practical things that belong in your room - like your clothes - are going to go. If the floor and the walls are about the same amount of brightness (or darkness), you'll probably want the decorations and highlights to be opposite of the that.
For instance, if your walls are deep royal purple and you get a dark hardwood floor, you'll probably want the rug and the bedspread to be light colored - like like a pale spring green, or lavender, or pale pink. If the walls are lavendar, you'll want to use darker colors - like deep red, royal purple, or midnight blue. contrast lends interest to a design.
I really liked the stencil idea below as well. Purple makes me think of grapes and vines, although I can also envision a more abstract border, like with triangles and circles in various colors at odd angles.

if you wanted to get a wood floor, if the shade of purple is dark, do a dark color wood and if its lite, do a lite color wood. and yes you will probably be happier with a rug(doesnt matter wut size), and since my room is purple, i got a rope light and spelled out the word Cutie and hung it up on my wall, my cieling fan blades are purple, and i have purple curtains... so i think my room looks cute, so u mite like it like that too/

I love to go to Urban Outfitters for cool decor. If you want a rug on your hard wood floor go for it. I have hardwood floor and i have a pink rug from there it looks really cute. for you i would go with a off white or white rug not too busy for the purple walls or something that matches your bed spread. Also Pottery Barn Teen has some really cute pillows and things to put on your walls. I would get some black and white pictures and frame them and put them on your walls or maybe old records something like that could be really cute. Get the Feb issue of Teen Vogue they have some cute ideas for a room.

Hiya i know exactly what you mean and if you want it more cozy what is nice is lots of cushions with paterns and its always good to stick to a colour sceme and a theme.Also i ve got a pinky purple walls and i did a big painting on one wall using green which tends to go well with purple, but it is always good to experiment and find out what you really like!!Have fun...DEM

instead of just putting random stuff on your wallz, try to think of a theme that you loikle and then make it work with your room. with me, i did a accesories/purse theme in my room and it looks really nice!!

It depends what sort of purple your room is. If its a ligher sort of colour then a lighter wood floor would be ok but if its a darker shade then wooden floors, especially lighet coloured ones, might look a little odd. Bare wood floors can make a room look big and airy but a bit impersonal, so a rug might be a good idea. I hope that helps, 'cos i'm not so hot on interior design, i only speak from experience.
