My friend told my other friends that this kid likes me, but i don't like him. I like someone else. I don't want to hurt his feelings because i know how it feels. What should i do?
americangirl101 answered Friday December 31 2004, 5:34 pm: Tell him you like him as a friend and your relationship should stay that way. Tell him that you dont mean to be mean but I'm sorry but i really dont like you. Maybe next year. SORRY! Ok good luck and fallow your heart not other peoples. <3 American Girl [ americangirl101's advice column | Ask americangirl101 A Question ]

RainbowPolkaDots answered Friday December 31 2004, 4:40 pm: Alright, I can tell you where your problems is right off the bat. "My friend told my other friends" Why didn't she just tell you straight up? I'm not trying to incinuate you have a bad friend. However, I am incinuating that this may be meaningless gossip. If this kid's crush is serious, he will tell you straight up. Until he does that, there is no need to make the situation anymore confusing or possibly break someone's heart. The whole thing will blow over, and hopefully, it'll happen without anyone being embarassed or hurt. Good luck! [ RainbowPolkaDots's advice column | Ask RainbowPolkaDots A Question ]

JSIMT answered Friday December 31 2004, 3:17 pm: Just tell the boy that likes you that you arent really looking for a bf right now, but you do like someone else, and your sorry but you can still be really good friends with him if he would want too :)
FunnyCide answered Friday December 31 2004, 2:40 pm: ok, so you don't like the guy who likes you. don't act like you sorta like him, that will cause problems. be straight up with him (gently now, gently) and just say "right now i don't like you the way that you like me. i think that it is very sweet and flattering that you like me, but right now, i am not interested in having a relationship. i'm sorry. maybe we could hang out and be better friends though..." that way you let him know that you don't want to go out, but you could still be friends. you could also get a friend to tell him, but thats kindof cowardly. you could always ignore him, he might get the point eventually, but thats really rude. you said that you "...don't want to hurt his feelings because i know how it feels..." ok, well it would probably hurt him MORE if you just ignored him than it would if you were HONEST with him. it's your decision in the end, but i would be honest with the guy, even though it would be hard.

Karen answered Friday December 31 2004, 2:25 pm: Just talk to him and tell him that you don't like him as a boyfriend but only as a friend because you like someone else. What ever you say to him will hurt him but don't worry. Hope I helped :)
