How do I get a dog??

Question Posted Thursday December 30 2004, 1:54 pm

I have a dog right now who is 7 years old - in human years. My brother and I really want another dog - a puppy- probably the same kind as the 1 I have now. But I just can't convince my parents!! Any ideas???!!

Check the dog pound for a dog like yours. Make sure it is in nice shape and healthy if you find one, and then bring your parents to the place and make them play with it. That's how I got my dog...Except we bought him at a store ^^

i think that you should tell your parents that you can handel it and if they dont believe you ask them if you can start a dog walkin program for people around you and show them you can do it.<3 alex

Well, maybe if you rely take care of your dog that you have now and clean after him and everything you can ask them. Tell them how responsible youve been wit this dog. you have to find out why. its usualy becuase you dont take care of the first dog. once you find out why then you work on it and ask them again.
tell me how it goes out at Ryan_10

well you and your brother can raise money to get the dog but donot spend your money or you won't have enough money to buy the dog or you could even tell your parents that you think it would be nice if your dog that you have now to have a another dog as a friend. sunshine

What's wrong with the one you have, many time i have wanted a new one too becuase puppies are cute, but there is no way you are going to get it becase they will think you are going to do the same thing over again, once the puppy gets old forget bout it and want a new one, stick with your old dog and love it!

For one dont be so selfish. you atleast got a dog i cant even convince my parents to get me 1 let alone 2! but I know exaclty how u can. Exchange
ur services(good grades, chores, good deeds)for their goods(money or the dog). It works everytime for my parents.

This is how I convinced my mom to get us another dog: I kept saying "But mom! Precious (my first dog)is SOOO lonely when we're not home! She has no one to play with and she's all by herself!" So one day we went to the mall and we went in the pet store and saw the CUTEST dog EVER. My brother said that we HAD to hold him. So we held him and my mom walked out of the little room where you get to play with the dogs and then the lady came back and said she needed to give the dog a bath. We walked over to the counter and my mom was filling out papers. So, that's how we got our second dog, Milo. You just have to make your mom feel kind of guilty about your other dog being home alone and not having any other dogs to play with. Hope this helped.

Hey!!

I had to beg for my Kermy dog. Because my other one died. So, I told my parents, "I took care of my last dog...why can't you let me have another puppy...I swear I'll take care of it!" You can also show them that you are responsible, by doing things when they ask you to do it without an attitude (hard one with me :))and showing that you are responsible..taking out the trash, doing the dishes, taking care of the dog you have now more than ever... etc. It works and over time they will realize that you are very responsible :)
Hope I helped

How about telling them that your old dog is old and might die soon and you want a new dog and stuff. I dont know..why dont you just wait till your 7 year old dog dies (awww) and then get a new one? Oh and, if you get a new dog you might play with it more and the 7 year old dog will be sad..awww sorry i just love dogs! lol
