Question Posted Wednesday December 29 2004, 1:14 pm
My period is really weird- it comes every 2 to 3 months, lasts for ages (around 10 days), is excruciatingly painful and has a VERY heavy flow. Is there something wrong with me? Please help,
Zoinatrobe.
PeAcEoNeArTh answered Thursday December 30 2004, 9:26 am: i'd double check on this, but this happens to people sometimes it lasts sooo long because it doesn't come as often as normal. the only part about this is how painful because a lot of women have painful cramps. if it doesn't get any better or you can't stand the pain i would go get it looked at. hope i helped

Or some tylenol or something! hope this helps!! good luck

Karen answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 4:37 pm: Nope, there isn't anything wrong with you. Every girl's period flow is different. The only thing to solve this is to go on birth control so it can regulate your period! Hope I helped :)

SoNuLiCiOuSsS answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 3:29 pm: um im not sure if there is anything wrong with you... but you can fix this problem by takin birth control pills... midol is also really good for cramps... birth control... is bascily a method of contraception... im not sure exactly how it works... it's usually taken when women become sexually active... but can be taken when females... have heavy... or unbareable cramps... JSIMT answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 2:41 pm: Dont worry about it, depending on your age, for a couple years after you get ur first period itll just completley be off and weird like crazyyyyyyy, also, if you lost ur virginity recently, it could do that to you, my sister lost hers and her period was doing the exact same thing, so it could be various things, but nothing wrong with you babe :) dont worry about it, your normal haha
NEVERLETG00 answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 2:24 pm: sounds normal to me, but after a while i would get sick of it, have your mom take you to the doctors or take yourself and see what they can do, you can go on birthcontrol to help regulate your cycles. x0 [ NEVERLETG00's advice column | Ask NEVERLETG00 A Question ]
zapreth answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 1:59 pm: You REALLY need to see a gynocolgist for this. Don't be frightened, but what you have described can be a serious problem that will need medication. The every 2-3 month cycle and long flow sounds like anovulation to me, but the heavy flow could also indicate something called endometriosis. Anovulation is a factor in uterene cancer. Endometriosis is painful and usually gets worse with age. There are also many other things that effect a woman's cycle, but these are the two yours most closely resembles that I have experience with. Whatever, it is not normal and should be checked ASAP by a professional. Good Luck! [ zapreth's advice column | Ask zapreth A Question ]
vickiooos answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 1:56 pm: nothing wrong with you.. your body is just slightly more different than the "average" girl which is retarded b/c no one is the average girl lol. but anyways.. yeah mine's kinda weird too.. it skips around on me sometimes. and mine are a week.. major pain right there. try takign some midol and exercise. the more fit you are the lesser the pain is. but if it bothers you that much then you can talk to your parents and your doctor and see if he'll prescribe you to The Pill. XxRockon answered Wednesday December 29 2004, 1:24 pm: nope, everyone has a different cylce..if you are concerned see your doctor and see what he/she says about it. I think that its fine though because as long as you're getting it on a somewhat regulare pattern you're fine [ XxRockon's advice column | Ask XxRockon A Question ]
