i hate myself
this kid (corey) likes me ALOT. i only like him as a bestfriend, but i love him to death. he asked me to formal. at the same time, this other kid who I like is supposed to ask me. well when Corey asked me online to the formal, i said without thinking "well no because im waiting for someone else to ask me, but if he doesnt i'll go with you" and then i realized thats the WORST thing anyone could possibly say. and hes CRUSHED! i freaked out and apologized. he replied "its okay, i should have known not to ask you, you wouldnt go with me anyway" and now i feel like SHIT! i told my parents and they said im an asshole for saying that. they said if i end up not getting a date, that i SHOULDNT go with him because thats insulting and he deserves better. i feel SO BAD. what can i do/say to make it up to him?

Just tell him that you're sorry and say something like "Any girl would be lucky to go to the formal with you, I'm just not the right girl. But i may me larer in the future. I do love you to death, but not that way. It broke my heart to hurt you like i did. I hope you can forgive me." something like that... you can add your own twist to it. hope i helped!

well, there really isn't anything else to do to make it up to him.. I mean maybe YOU should ask HIM out to the formal and you need to tell him that, you know, I'm really sorry for saying that to you online, and all though i did mean it I just don't want us not to be close friends.. if he says f off then just take it and leave because you know, he likes you and he asked you to the formal and you shut him down.. so there isn't much of any redemption from that

K everyone does this. Tell him that you only love him as a bestfriend but if he wants to go to the dance w/u AS FRIENDS then say im really sry and ill go w/u as friends! He might become more or u could hook him up but not right away!

Thats so horrible but chill out. Everyone says things that they dont realize untill they say them. On the other side you obviously meant what you said otherwise you would not have said it. Things will work out and you will get your date im sure. However even if the guy you want to ask you does not I would not go with corey anyway. It gives him the wrong idea about being friends. Considering he obviously likes you a ton.
