cancer!!!
i didnt no which one i shud put this under illness or relationships/school well anyways.... my friend rachel has 9 bros and sis's and her mom just found out that she had cancer! rachel is the oldest and is only 12! if i try to talk to her about it she just acts like she doesnt care that much and shes telling everyone! if it is possible i want to get her on extreme makeover home edition bc her family deserves it! and if her mother dies then there will b a widow father who has to raise 9 children on his own.

Be as nice as possible! bring it up at leats if she gets mad she knows you care and she has someone to talk to. It will be so0o0o hard so help her out. My dad was one of 10 and his mom and dad were both dead by the time he was 13 and he was th eoldest! he had to take care of babys and toddlers! so be strong and help your friend

I know how difficult it must be for your friend to comprehend the circumstances, especially at her age. You need to let her know that this ISN'T something that should be be downplayed because it IS quite serious. Of course she'll put it off because she thinks that everything will always be all right. The truth is that nothing will be the same in her family again. I hate to say it, but it's true.

Don't really talk to her about it unless she brings it up. Just be careful and be there for her because i think that she needs support. 8 other siblings all in the same house?! Her siblings probably look up to her because shes the oldest and well i think you should just be there. and the makeover thing is awesome! great idea and i love to think about how happy they would be!

Hey hun, im sorry about whats going on. The reson it seems like she doesnt care is because shes trying to hide her emotions. Shes mad the her mom got cancer so she acting like she doesnt care when she does! So just dont bring up the subject shell talk about it when she wants to! Also about the Extreme Home Makeover, watch the show on ABC Sunday night and at the end it will say what you can do to apply for the show. Just act cool. Maybe she doesn't want to think about it because it makes her feel bad or something? Try and thing of fun things to do with her and try not to say anything about it.

Just say the doctors will help her out! The reason why shes acting like she doesnt care is because shes trying to hide her feelings..shes really scared and sad. And to get on extreme makeover..watch the show and at the end of the show it tells you what site to go to or who to call..good luck

I'm sure your friend really does care. That isnt something to just "not care about" But some people have trouble dealing with emotions. Dont push her to talk to you about it, she will when/if shes ready, but just let her know if she does want to talk you will be there for her. and Maybe start a fund (but dont tell her about it, you wouldnt want her to think everybody feels sorry for her) and see how much money you can raise to help her mother. We did that for a friend of mine who had cancer, it really can help. If not the cancer, it will give her mother confidence and more will to fight the cancer.

i would be sympathetic, but encouraging! be her friend, talk about what she wants to talk about, pray for her and her mom. i will pray for her. its heartbreaking that she is going through this, but - God willing - your friends mom will pull through!
