periods

Question Posted Saturday November 20 2004, 1:37 pm

Ok, well, I got my period on Thursday, Its not the 1st time I got it cuz I have had it since I was 10. The question I have is how long do they usually last? Before, mine were about 7-9 days and this one has only been 3 and it isn’t heavy at all, like im done with it and I usually get really bad cramps and have really heavy flows ad ahad neither. Why is it so light and short this time???

No, im not pregnant and cuz Im still a virgin, im only 13… lol…

You're normal, first of all. Periods, for YEARS will be irregular. Your cycle just hasn't regulated itself yet. My periods usually last between four and six days. It's supposed to be between three or five days, I think. But it's nothing to worry about. Just be happy when your periods aren't heavy and painful, lol. I hope this helps!

The first few yrs you have it are going to change around a little bit. It's normal, but if you're really worried ask your mom or a doctor. The average is 4-6 days usually. Mine usually goes for 6 days but sometimes it's 8 or so, and I've had it for 3 yrs as well, it'll get on a normal track soon enough. Hope I helped!

I think the average time for periods is 5 days, but they can be pretty irregular, no matter how long you've had them before. I have had periods that lasted seven days, and ones that have lasted two days. Menstruation is just crazy, that's all.

Courtney answered Saturday November 20 2004, 6:34 pm:
I totally understand and I have those same periods as well . Don't you just hate those cramps ? Well, it's probably doing this because you're maturing into a young woman so your period won't always be heavy with cramps . As you grow , your period will change . Some months it'll be heavy and sometimes they won't . I have the same thing going on with me right now , and I totally understand . It's just that you're maturing as a young woman/lady whatever you prefer . I hope I was some help . By and have a nice day .
