my friend is doin some stupid stuff, and i want him to stop. he's always takin crazy chances, like jumpin off roofs into pools and stuff. and then the other day he was burnin himself with a lighter. and on more than one occasion he talks about he wishes he had a knife with him so he could slice his wrists. when i ask him why he does this stuff he answers "no one cares about me, so why should i stop?" how do i tell him that everytime he does something, it kills a part of me. i dont wanna seem mushy or anything, but i cant stand to see him doin this crap. please help me im freakin out, im so afraid for him.
ps-and dont tell me to get an adult to talk to him, cuz if i tell on him, he'd neva speak to me again.

tell him exactly what u told me. that everytime he does something, it kills a part of you. Say u love him maybe not as a bf but u do and u care for him and you dont want to lose him. And say something like u'd rather die 5 times rather then him be gone forever. Say he's such a big part in ur life and it kills u to see him diong that to himself, thinking no one cares about him when u do more then anything. I kno I'm mushy but i've been in this situation and my way worked, i hope i helped!

just try talking to him tell him that u really care about him and u want him to stop and think about wut he is doing and how it could affect his life

Ok, think about it this way - what's more important, a friendship, or saving someone's life? If you don't tell someone, he could hit a major artery when cutting himself, and kill himself by bleeding to death. Or he could jump off a roof, and miss the pool, land on his head, and he could do serious brain damage and/or die, or become paralyzed for the rest of his life and be confined to a wheelchair.

Just next time the subject comes up..tell him that whenever he does stupid things like that, it hurts you. I've been through that before, and I just straight up told them how I felt..& I didn't get mushy about it. Tell him he's one of your friends and YOU care about him. he has a death wish...something happened to him..that makes him want to die...besiedes well talking to a counselor..which he will not do..all you can do is be his friend..and maybe try to get thim to find a new hobby that he could become excited about that does not involve death stunts.
He really needs to get on some meds..he is super bi-polar...

ashlie im sorry to say this but you cant help him. Self mutilation can not be cured by a friend telling someone that they care about them. Obviously his problems stem from something much deeper, most likely home problems. This behavior will just continue till either he is caught or he does something so horrible that it will end his life. Go to someone and tell them. Think about how bad it would be if he cut his wrist and actually hit a vein that could kill him if punctured. Know that your a good friend reguardless.

instead of getting an adult tell him how u feel that's the only way! if he keeps saying no one cares about me say that u do! cuz u care 4 him right? tell him that all this stuff that he does 2 himself makes u sad and that u luv him but he needs to stop doing this stuff!!
