classicBlOnDiE591 answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 8:32 pm: huh you seem very bored and i know what you're going through and i have something like that at this very moment. i would say try some nice hot soup and drink lots of fluids and if u haven't seen a doctor (which i could highly doubt) go see one. i mean my doc thinks mine is just sinuses. Also try taking tylonal and things like that if you are not already and for things to do. hmmm. i would say to read a book or try watching programs on t.v. also you may want to start writing something. i'm a harry potter freak and i'm writing my version of the 6th book. (yes i know i'm weird;) or you can take up an indoor activity that you can do while you are sick and you can enjoy it. [ classicBlOnDiE591's advice column | Ask classicBlOnDiE591 A Question ]
PrEtTyKiTtY0428 answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 5:03 pm: If your throat has been sore for 6 days, you should really go to the doctor. You could possibly have strep throat, and if it's not treated it'll get worse. If your throat does not get better really soon, I would recommend that you see the doctor right away. The doctor can check your throat and see what's wrong with it. If you do have strep, they will be able to give you medicine for it. You should start going back to school, because you don't want your grade to get bad by not getting caught up on your work. If you have strep, or something worse the doctor will probably give you a doctor's accuse to stay home from school even longer. I would suggest that you read or just lay down and relax since your not feeling well, because if your not feeling well you really shouldn't be doing alot of things. When people are sick they usually just sleep, but since you've slept so much I would just read a good book or magazine. [ PrEtTyKiTtY0428's advice column | Ask PrEtTyKiTtY0428 A Question ]

MFS answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 11:20 am: My first question is this, and it is not exactly pleasant: does your breath seem to stink lately? If so, then you probably have strep throat and you will have to see a doctor and start (and complete) a course of anti-biotics to get rid of the infection.
The suggestions of gargling saltwater are good - make sure to use warm salt water when you do it. And yes, it will taste like hell, which of course, is why you're only gargling it and not drinking it.
A couple of the viruses running amok have been causing sore throats - for those, all you can do is rest and wait to get better. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
Lachiquitaloca9 answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 9:51 am: i hope by now you have gone to the doctors office. As suggested by some other people you probably have strept throat. In the meantime, I advise lots of vitamin C. Either the swallowable or chewable tablets are good, I think most parents have it around the house. Also lots of hot liquids. Soup of course. Hot Tea with Honey instead of sugar will feel so good on a sore throat, Camomile tea will relax you or a good mint one will also help. Going to the dr. though should be the first thing you do. I hope you feel better. While you're sick, you should probably do your school work...I sound like an annoying parent, but seriously, falling behind is such a pain. Otherwise come up with some project maybe you've been needing to do, but never had the time. I'm a slob so when I get sick and stay home I usually re organize stuff. If I'm worn out I re organize drawers since I can do that while in bed. If I feel up to it, I sometimes start rearranging furniture. It sounds crazy, but its not like you have anything else to do...of course since you're probably weak it takes a little longer to do...I usually end up sitting on the floor and pushing the furniture around with my feet. In the end it looks terrible and I usually put it back when I feel better, but hey it kept me busy. :) haha. Take care. [ Lachiquitaloca9's advice column | Ask Lachiquitaloca9 A Question ]
Squirrel_on_fire13 answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 9:42 am: You probably have strep throat, um here's a dictionary definition:
An infection of the throat, often epidemic, caused by hemolytic streptococci and characterized by fever and inflammation of the tonsils.
I've had it a few times before, it hurts bad, but it will get better. if you havn't already go to the doctors, or even the pharmacy and get some medicans for it, I know there's a special type of medican for Strep throat, and it will make you better.
try and stay active even knowing your sick, try and at least get a little bit of exercise, whether it be just jumping jacks, or whatever. I used to getsombody to play board games with me =P but i also got on the comp a lot and just found stuff to do
selectopaque answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 9:41 am: Have you tried gargling salt water? It sounds painful when you have a sore throat, but trust me, it really does work. I was about to do that before I take my class. Just make sure you don't swallow the salt water. That just wouldn't taste good.
As for being so tired, I'm guessing you have a cold. I also have a cold but I have to suffer through work and classes.
