Church stuff

Question Posted Sunday October 24 2004, 4:06 pm

Hey, well I go to a Church and we are having some problems getting more people come to our youth group. My brother asked me to figure out some stuff girls can do at youth group. Because the guys always play sports and the girls dont like it so we dont play and were bored. So what are some of the stuff girls can do? I thought about cooking..like making a quick snack for all of us but thats all I have. If you can help me with more ideas I'd appreciate it. And if you go to youth group at a church, what are some of the stuff you do? Thanks so much and I rate all 5's!

what do sports teach you about god? if you're going to waste your time going to a "youth group," don't be a pansy about it. i mean, wow. just wow.

How about doing craft things like making jewelry or painting t-shirts.

do sports that are friendly to EVERYONE. Like, at my church (in confirmation two years ago) we used to have a kind of unfriendly pastor who had us play rugby. The girls hated it (most of them anyway). Sometimes we just came late. He was really boring as well. But now we have a new pastor who used to coach basketball and really knows people. She's super-awesome. Tonight at youth group we had a hay ride, played capture the flag and hiked around in some woods. Later in the year we're going to start having weird tournaments like foosball and egg-races. We're also going to have all-craft nights. In fact, I'm going to teach knitting at one of them.

So yeah, find something that everyone likes or everyone can do/wants to do. Don't segregate by gender.

Why don't you guys take some pictures and make a scrap book. Like you can take pictures of the boys playing some sports and you guys cooking and all the other stuff.

Well, my group use to have debates about everything from what was the best type of chocolate spread to hidden meanings in the bible; do all sorts of crafts like glass painting and paper mache; party-esqu games; movie nights and so much more, except I can't remeberanything else right now. I hope that helps you get the ball rolling though:)

Hi Sweetie,
Youth Group? Church? Hehe... Yeah, I don't do that. But I do have some ideas. Maybe you can arrange fund-raising activities. Bake sells... selling chocolates... or just trying to recrute people (just don't pressure anyone). You can maybe even do volunteer stuff.
Anyway, I hope you find something to do. Best wishes. Blessed Be...

Well I'm jewish so I don't go to a church, but I'm the vice president of my temple youth group. One of the most fun things we have done is bowling at night. It ended at 2 am and then we went to our temple and had a sleepover, we all slept in the same room but u can have a gilr room and a guy room too. Also we do voluenteer/community servace stuff which is really fun and we lead servaces which everyone loves because we make them more modern and exciting. If i think of anything else I'll tell you.
