Start out by doing one set of lateral raises with a can (soup, veggies, whatever you have) in each hand. Do this every other day. If this is too light for you to start with (meaning you feel no soreness whatsoever) then use 2 or 3 pound weights. Do your raises every other day until you don't feel sore at all. then you can move up your weights one pound.
Good Luck!
**in case you don't know what a lateral raise is: lay your arms down flat at your sides, then lift them straight up until they are parallel to the floor** [ rice06's advice column | Ask rice06 A Question ]

push ups-ten a day r good enough
weights- sumtin heavy to lift up
pull ups + chinups- i thought they were hard at 1st but they get easier if u try
hanging- try to hang on the bar in pull up position stay there as long as possible.

MHScutie87 answered Sunday October 24 2004, 7:03 pm: you need to start a daily plan...so at first you could just simply do 5 push-ups a day until you feel that is too easy (that could be like for a week or even a month) then you can work up to 20 push-ups a day..but dont just start and do 20 push ups a day because that can be dangerous and not even very helpful. you could also do some fun yoga or exercise classes that overall tone your body (including your arms, but ur abs and legs too) hope this helps...xOxooo [ MHScutie87's advice column | Ask MHScutie87 A Question ]
ElementaryHustler answered Sunday October 24 2004, 6:31 pm: Start lifting weights, like do some curl ups or push ups, but if you can't do pulls ups then most likely you can't do them. If you don't have any weights go to the gym, there are probably some people there that could help you. Good luck
Hannah answered Sunday October 24 2004, 5:59 pm: Hey girl,
Okay, well I still say that push ups is the way to go. A simple way to build up your arms strength and burn the flab is to slowly work down to the ground. Example; Start doing about 20 push ups a day against the wall. Do this for 3 days. Then repeat the same methoid using a countertop. Then the TV. Then the third step on the stairs. Then the second. Then you should have enough strength to do the push ups on the floor. Or you can always buy weights and do lifts during the O.C. or the newest episode Laguna Beach. Good Luck*
