headphones

Question Posted Saturday October 9 2004, 2:10 pm

hey i'm the girl whose walkman was broken because the sound was only coming out of the 1 ear. well it wasnt the headphones because i put other headphones in and it still didnt work, so i want to know if there is a place where i can get my walkman looked at/repaired. i have a Sony Psyche and i HEARD that they don't make them anymore, so where could bring it to get it fixed? my mom doesnt remember where she bought it. and would it be cheaper to get it repaired or should i just buy a new one? i have no idea. and i feel bad because we dont really have alot of money right now.

You could try to take it into any stores like Future Shop, Best buy, and Circuit City to have it looked at. I always go to Future Shop to get electronics fixed. Before actually getting it fixed, ask for an estimated price of how much it's going to cost. If it's too much right now, you could always start saving. Or wait til those stores are having a sale and buy another one....~Good luck~

It'll probably be cheaper just to buy another one. It's suprising that it wasn't the headphones, but the walkman might cause you more trouble. I don't know if they haven't continued making it, so if they haven't, then it'll probably a lot more expensive. If you end up buying a new one, keep the reciept, and only buy it if it's returnable.

I'm actually amzed the headphones didn't work. You should probably buy another one, because to me, it seems like that one is going to give you persistant problems, so you might come out better getting a new one. Try getting a cheap one, 'cause in all actuality, they seem to work better, for me at least, but make sure it doesn't skip, thats the darndest thing to find, a cheap walkmen that doesn't skip, but its not immpossible.

Though I am not an walkman technician, unless you have a great warranty its going to cost you a "whole lotta cash" to repair the walkman. There probably aren't too many places that repair walkmans and if you manage to find one, they will probably charage alot to fix it. Your only other solution then would be sending out your walkman for repair but that would include shipping and other costs ( especially if indeed you have a very old model) Bottom line = don't do it.

If money is tight i recommend you get a part time job to help you get by. The cheapest place I can recommend to you is WALMART. I know for a fact that the cheapest SONY Walkman ( cassette walkman) is about $40. I actually own one, and it has been providing me with great music for a number of years now.
Unless you are quite desperate, I don't recommend you purchase a cheaper brand. From my experiences, you recieve unreliable service and very low quality of music. Cheaper brands will also eat batteries very quickly causing your battery purchases to inrease.

Remember: a wise investment now will save you many $$ in the future.

Good Luck

Aw.....well i suggest you get a new one. See those kinda things are just not worth going through repair plus they probably charge you a lot. Return the new headphones and get a new disman, you can get one for cheap at Walmart, just dont buy the cheapest one, it will last shorter. Offer to pay for it yourself, buy it with your own money from babysitting or allowance or w/e you get money off of.

GL!

Hey there. That same problem use to happen to me. The music would only some out of one ear. I figured out that it was because I wasn't using the brand of head phones that belongto the brand of walkman/cyplayer. You need to be using a Sony headphone. That way sound will come out of both sides. But if you just want to fix or buy a new one, it's prolly better to just guy a new one, because repair places can get kind of costly and an the end you put more into it than it's worth it. But for now, try getting a pair or Sony headfones. (It doesn't have to be Sony Psyche, just Sony brand.) Hope it works! :)

EDIT: Oh, well you might have blown a fuse in the wireing. That sometimes happens to. So then you would again need a new pair. :) Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck. :)
