Ok, I like the whole “crimp” style, but when I crimp my hair it goes all poofy. Is there any way I can still crimp my hair w/o it going poof on me? Thnx everyone!

Mercy_x_Me answered Wednesday October 6 2004, 3:43 pm: Yeah crimpings really cool. Ok try this, before you crimp as much as a pain as it may be, straighten it first ! This way it will be really flat to work with.
imbad90 answered Wednesday October 6 2004, 3:40 pm: Okay, first blow dry your hair. Then, but the crimper on all the way hot (it sounds scary at first, but if you want to have a distinct crimp, you gotta.) And hold it there for a while (like 5 seconds) And do all the sections of you hair. After that, use hair-spray on it because it keeps it in it's shape and doesn't freeze. That's what works for me, but all hair types are different, so just try it. [ imbad90's advice column | Ask imbad90 A Question ]
MoonFisher answered Wednesday October 6 2004, 3:31 pm: Instead of crimping, try several small braids while it's wet and running some gel through it before braiding it up. Then just curl the ends where the band was and DON'T BRUSH it. When you crimp or braid, brushing makes it frizz. You just need to run your fingers through gently to get any knots out. If it gets bad somehow, get a light mister spray bottle and spray it with a small, fine mist to settle it. DO NOT brush it while wet or you will lose all the crimp. Christine answered Wednesday October 6 2004, 12:02 pm: ok i told someone else this and it worked for them...
1. Get your hair wet and scrunch it with a
towl..
2. get lots of gel and scrunch with that
3. dry it a little bit with the hair dryer
4. scrunch it more and dry it more
5. use a lot of hair spray and while spraying
it.. scrunch with your handa and go from
there. It will still look like its wet but its not. It shouldnt get poofy after that. I scrunch mine all the time and i do that.
kristen22 answered Wednesday October 6 2004, 11:40 am: Pick up a bottle of "Citre Shine" spray laminator....I swear by this stuff to keep hair from being poofy also another tip After you crimp each section of your hair, and your done, **Don't brush your hair** pick through it with a comb to "brush" out the sections. And this will keep it from even trying to go poofy. [ kristen22's advice column | Ask kristen22 A Question ]
