I personally stand firmly beside the belief that "age is a state of mind, not being." I mean, I've never felt my age.
Don't worry about falling for "older guys"; three years is not that big an age difference, really. Just make sure, if they like you back, that they don't like you for the wrong reasons. Catch my drift? *Cough*
The heart wants what the heart wants...You can't help who you get a crush on. Believe me...I was trying not to develop crushes on guys when I met my current boyfriend. He's also almost a year and a half older than me. *Shrug* He's 18 and I'm gonna turn 17 in october. We have a great relationship...age is stupid. Lol. Ignore it.
I hope this helped!

age shouldnt matter, if you have feelings for someone older than you, you obviously are really mature! thats a good thing ;) you're really lucky to have a mom who doesnt mind the age you date, many girl's have mothers who give them trouble about it. if you have a problem with it, then you need to find someone that is mature like a 16, 17 year old that is your age or a little older. dont worry, you just are looking for the guys that are a little more mature than boys who are obsessed with cooties =] -ask_anything

Try and talk to guys in your classes that are around your age, older guys are always nice to look at and such but most of them use you anyways... just keep looking and you'll find the right guy for you, and his age whether it be a year younger or older it wont matter, if you understand what im saying

It's so normal to like older guys they're so much more mature and attractive. If you think about it when you get out in the real world then it doesn't matter if your a couple years younger. think of it in a more mature adult way.

AGE ISN'T ANYTHING BUT A NUMBER

MFS answered Thursday September 23 2004, 10:53 am:
Age is a number, yes indeed... however, at your age, a few years is a huge deal - a year or two is a vastly different mind-set, different levels of maturity and knowledge. 14 to 17 is a big, big difference. As people get older, the age differnces mean less and less, but during the teen years, those differences are enormous. Mind you, not all people are at the same level, and age isn't THE determining factor, but it cannot be ignored.

As far as stopping falling for older guys? I'd step back and take an introspective look at yourself - ask yourself why you think you fall for older guys? Is it the "thrill factor"? Is it due to the maturity gap that some guys have? Is it due to sheer infatuation? It is one thing to just hang out with people a little older than you - I did that all the time - no big deal... but to think about starting some sort of romantic relationship with them can be awkward, difficult, or lead to things that you're just not ready to deal with. Just think with your head, not just your emotions.
