i'm going into highschool as a freshman and for a couple of years now i haven't been doing that good in school. i used to be an honor student and then i got hit with depression really bad and my grades fell to C's D's and F's and i always had A's and B's. I've been struggling since last year to get my grades up because i want so badly to become a doctor and i can't get my grades up. my delema is that if i keep struggling i want to hire a tutor for myself. normally i don't care what people think about me but i'm not sure what people would say if they found out that i had a tutor. i don't want to feel stupid. what should i do to make myself feel better about this?

well let me put it this way. ur NOT stupid if u get a tutor that makes u smart. ur smart enough to kno that u need those good grades. BUT if u really don't want to get a tutor ask a friend who's really good in the subjects ur having trouble in to help u wit them. but i don't kno any tutors for ya. my advice for that is to ask a teacher if they kno anyone. First of all, it's great that you're stepping up and trying to make this year better than others. I definitely think that if you're trying to improve your grades, you need a tutor. Who cares what other people think? You're going to get even smarter than you already are (and you're pretty smart for thinking of a tutor), and you'll get better grades. Better grades means a higher confidence level. It all mixes together. Good luck, and have a great year!

Have you received treatment for your depression? If you haven't talked to a doctor I highly suggest you do.

If you are determined enough to want to get a tutor to help you bring up your grades, then you should. It shouldn't matter what people think about you having a tutor, because they will just end up working at McDonalds while your an aweome doctor! Don't let what other people might say get in the way of your hopes and dreams! And if anyone ays anything, say *Screw you! I'm planning for my future!* lol

sylvan learning center would be a good place to get a tutor. no one should think your stupid for having a tutor! in fact it's smart because you're trying to get your grades up.

well, first ov all i wanna make sure that ur ova depression. i went thro depression and it waz awful! no1 shud have 2 go thro that, so if ur not completely ova it plz consider therapy. it helps a ton!!!! but about the grades, DO NOT FEEL STUPID ABOUT GETTIN A TUTOR! im a pretty good student but i have 2 have my teachers tutor me a whole lot. it helps me a ton!! if it makes u feel betta tho, get a tutor that u dont no or thatz not from ur skool. that way, no1 wud eva no! itz ok to have trouble in skool! HOPE I HELPED!! :)

Hey, you should't give a rats ass what people say! Is caring what they think for however long it is your gonna have a tutor worth a lifetime of regret because some ignorant teased you? I hope not. Its wonderful to hear you want to be a doctor! You see, I think just encouraging yourself, and telling yourself that you can do it will take you there. Look inside yourself and see just how much you can see yourself leading a succesful life. Tell yourself that in the end, only you can convince yourself that it works for your benefit. Even if anyone teases you and makes you feel stupid, its not worth not becoming a doctor because of a couple of remarks from people who will most likely be serving your coffee later in life! I really, really hope you hang in there, and be determined that you can do it, because its worth it. You know you can, just see how badly you want it. Compare having a job at McDonalds for a living, or being a doctor? Some people wouldn't choose the latter...but since you do...go for it, for for it and make the best of your life in the future!
