Preaching to the choir simply means that you are telling someone something they already practice. For example, you tell someone who is adament against abortion that abortion is wrong. That is preaching to the choir. Like telling the church choir that Jesus died for them. That is preaching to the choir. Telling someone something that they not only already know but that it is something that they live by...
SiLenTxfAiRy answered Monday August 30 2004, 4:39 pm: "I dont kiss and tell" that means after a kiss that person doesnt go about and blab on if he/she was a good kisser aswell as that they kissed them. Keep your lips sealed! Kisses are suppose to be secret in their own way!:)
Preaching to a choir..ive always thought that meant dont announce yourself and problems to everyone..but im not too sure about that one!
~*Annie*~ answered Friday August 20 2004, 9:03 pm: The first question means you don't kiss someone and then tell it to everyone....
The second one means that what you are saying to a person is pointless and that person isn't the one you are to talk to. (A preacher is not supposed to preach to the choir, it is supposed to preach to the assembly. The choir is there to sing.)

Moop answered Thursday August 19 2004, 1:38 pm: First2fall is partly correct on the second expression. The "choir" in question is either God's choir in heaven or a church choir. In the first case, preaching to the choir would be moot since they probably don't need it. In the second case, the choir would be in church every sunday and would have been preached to very much already, so preaching would also be useless to them.

First2fall answered Thursday August 19 2004, 1:29 pm: I have no idea what your first question is, it is way too confusing. The second question I can answer. The say "Preaching to the choir" means you are telling people your idea when they have that same idea, sorta like a priest is telling the choir about god when they already know everythign there is to know about God. princs answered Thursday August 19 2004, 1:25 pm: "Dont kiss and tell" basically means that you dont kiss or do something with a guy or girl and then go blab about it to all your friends. Its basically just outa respect for the other person. [ princs's advice column | Ask princs A Question ]
