I recently got my tongue pierced. I love it, but the thing is, my church and friends don't approve of it. How do I deal with those opposed to the piercing?

All that matters is what you think of yourself. Dont worry about them. They'll get used to it even if they dont like it. Besides.... you're still the same person!

well you could probably buy those like clear fillers to put in your tounge so they dont really notice it as much, and if they still dont like it after that then theres not much you can do besides taking it out or keeping it (If it were me I'd keep it since you already went through with the pain of getting it pierced).
lol this might sound weird but I kinda want my tounge pierced too!! Did yours hurt a lot? I have my belly button pierced and I didnt think that hurt very bad, but I heard the tounge hurts A LOT! is that true??

don't pay any attention to what they say. i happen to like tongue rings. all you should care about is what you think. if you like it, that's all that should matter.

Well I personally wouldn't worry about what they think. It was your choice and it's your body. You can also buy a filler to put in there. That's what I did untill my mom said it was ok for me to have one. Hope I helped

Who cares what they think. If they don't like it, it's THEIR problem. Don't let it become yours. People have their own opinions on things...but you have to learn to just not care! If you like it, then that's all that matters.

get a clear thing.. that goes through your tongue.. so you cant see it so no one has to kno n then when your friends are ready to accept you and the peircing you can put a noticable one in .. :)

Your always going to be faced with people that will have a prejudice against your piercings. It's almost inevitable. Just tell them that your the same person even if you decide to get a piercing. Just be very mature about it, and let them know that your are just as respectable with your tongue pierced.
If they still will not accept you, then get a red tongue ring and you can wear that when you want it to blend in with your tongue.

Its your piercing. If they don't like it, tell them to shove it.
I wouldn't know where to get one, but they make clear tongue studs. Maybe people won't be as offended by it if it isn't so noticable.

If your friends won't accept you over a little thing like a tongue piercing, then they arn't your friends at all. Tell them that it's your body, not theirs.

As long as your sure that you want the piercing and you are happy with it, it shouldnt matter what other people think. Try explaining to them why you got the piercing. Maybe they'll understand.
