im gaining weight

Question Posted Thursday August 5 2004, 5:02 pm

hi, im only 15 but im very interested in my weight! i recently started gaining weight but there has been no change in my diet. I was 105 but now for some reason my weight has gone up to 116. My mom just thinks im crazy and pushes me away but please don't do the same i really want to get back to my old weight and i want to do it a healthy way, so if anybody can help please tell me how to loose the extra pounds im only 5 foot 2 and i think i would be healthier with a smaller size. if you could just give me an example of what i should eat or something i should do everyday i would really appreaciate it.
thanks!

You have a perfectly fine weight for your height. If you really really want to lose weight, dont eat junk food what-so-ever and start lifting weights and jogging about 3 times a week (monday, wednesday, and friday?) keep your eating habits balanced and just feel more confident about your body! (oh, and if it helps, how much do u look in the mirror? sometimes if you WATCH your stomach you'll feel fat and wanna lose weight, even though you are fine.)

At 15 our bodies are going through changes so the weight gain is normal. Also being 15, 5'2" and weighing 116 is a pretty good size. But if you arent happy with the way you look or if you just feel like you are out of shape then you could try working out and laying off of junk food. Although, since you are at this age and height you might not get back to that weight but you could change any baby fat that you have into muscle by working out and it would be okay because it would be toned. Good luck

Well, first off, you want to watch your calorie intake. Don't eat past 7pm and if you need snacks then snack on fruits and veggies. Secondly, you need to get exercise. Walking everyday for at least 30 minutes will help. Also, I recommend doing leg lifts. Those are where you lay on one side and bring your leg up and down. I recommend starting out with 30 on each leg but if you think you can do more then go for it! Another thing I recommend is arm curls. For those, small weights will help but you bring your arms down in front of you and keeping your elbows still you bring the weights up to your chest. I would start out with 50 on each arm. Also, crunches or situps will help you and one last thing I recommend is stretching before you go to bed. That might help you to sleep better and as your sleeping your burning fat as well. I hope this helps and good luck!

Really, youdon't need to do anything at all about your weight, you are perfectly fine. Maybe you are getting ready to have a little growth spurt or something? I would wait a little bit before you start losing weight. You may need it if you are about to start growing! =] xo|Jenn*

I think that your weight is fine. Usually when girls grow they do gain weight and believe the boys are not going to mind they like girls with curves and i have a friend that is five two and she wieghs 120 and she is not fat or anything so im assuming that you're not either. But if you feel that you look bad you could try doing muscle toneing excersizes and gain muscle mass and not necessarily loose weight but u wont be fat at all you would be toned. Eating healthy should be part of a normal daily diet for everyone though it is not for most. So basically Eat healthy and get excersize (even if its just a walk around the park)and what ever you weigh is your bodies normal, good, healthy wieght. So don't stress.
