Wow.. well you could try using a dictionary, but I'll give it to you right here... "Modest (adj.) - Not vain or boastful about one's worth, skills, deeds, etc.." An example... someone tells you... you're really pretty [and you feel like you didn't need him to tell you, because it's apparent to you], but wishing not to seem self-centered, you casually deny it. I'm not too sure if it's a good thing or not. It just depends I suppose. Although, it's not always bad to recognize your good points, and to let others recognize them too. =D

Modest means bein really good at something but like you dont brag about it or anything, and sometimes you'll even deny the fact of bein so good at it.

i'll give you an example...if you win a race and you did really well but you didn't boast about it much then you're being modest. modesty is usually a good thing but it can be irritating! :p hope i helped <333

Modest means generally that you aren't making a big display of yourself, either with your actions or the way you dress. Its good to reserve a lot of modesty, because who wants to be annoying and conceited. But too much modesty can also be bad, because then you refuse to take credit for anything good you do, and that can be equally annoying. Try to find a happy medium!
