he's thinking about commiting suicide
I have this one friend that i just met and he's thinking about commiting suicide how do I change his mind? We all care about him and he just won't listen to us! We have told hm that we care about him and would hate to see this happen to him but he just wont listen to us! What do I do? Keep in mind that no matter what were not going to send him to see a shrink!

Hey you can be there for your friend an confort him, let him know how much you and your friends care for him. Since you have already done that I think that the best thing to do is to tell an adult. It is really hard to make somone who wants to commit suicide stop if they are really serious. I know you dont want him to see somone for help, but if he wants to die he really needs some help!! He can also talk to people who are going through the same thing. I hope I helped. If you ever need anything I'm here. try to tell your friend how much everyone cares about him and that it would be a big mistake to commit suicide. Just an idea: to make him feel better make like a video or something of all his friends and family telling them how much they love him and how sad they would be if he wasent in their lives, maybe knowing that he will change his mind..

Why does he want to commit suicide? But be there no matter what. If he needs someone to talk to be there for him. Tell him "it may not seem like it to you, but a lot of people care about you and that you have so much to live for." And just also tell him even though he is going through whatever is going through, he'll get through it. Because most life learn lessons is usually caused by pain. And no ones life is perfect, you just have to get through it and if he goes to a friend, he'll get through it together with his friend(s) or whoever helps him through it. Okay First of all why is he doing this? the main causes are depression .. everybody goes threw it and hes just taking the easy way out by commiting suicide you should help him talk it out and help make the problem better.. life is lyk a huge test and if you take the shortcut by commiting suicide then you failed already.. just help him threw it and in the end he will thank you.

Tell him that what he does effects other people. Try to talk to him about why he want's to kill himself figure out what's going on in his life and take him out and try to make him smile, Tell him that alot of people care what happens to him although he may think no one does... Tell him you are there for him whenever he needs someone to listen, just let him know you'll be there...

If he won't listen to you then you should find someone that he will listen to. Everyone has a point of being on this Earth. If you're not going to send him to a shrink, then you should ask him why he would want to do it. He's always loved and I hope he makes the right decission. Good luck!

alot of times you can call some type of hot-line that helps people deal with sucide and stopping it, find a phone book and look one up, they are professionals at what they do, they toll free and totally confidential. try one of those

He is in an awkward stage right now. It's kind of like he is shutting everyone and what they are saying out of his life...it's a mental thing. And sadly he is the only one who can stop himself. It is important to keep reminding him how much he means to you and how he shouldn't take his life for granted like that. But sometimes words are not enough in a situation like this. Why don't you and the rest of his friends take him out and try to get him to have fun. Maybe then he will realize there is something to live for. Because right now he is probably so unhappy with himself, everyone, and life in general. Spend a lot of time with him and keep an eye out for him. Good luck with everything! Love you! -Mandee

Personally i had a best friend who took pills to try and kill herself... she didn't die but you can sit down and really talk with your friend and ask him what is wrong. If he won't listen adn still says he's going to kill himself, then you need to talk to his parents or someone you trust! ;)

<big><lightblue>ok, i cant tell you what to do. But i think that u do need to send him to a phsycologist. Maybe its the best answer for this question. U seem to love him greatly and worry about him so i wouldnt exclude any of my options. IF that doesnt work, then id say the best thing to do would be to talk to your parents or his. OR u could talk to him about it and listen to what he has to say. U never know what could happen. just listen to what he has to say. ANd if that doesnt work then remember u always have other options. IF u need ne more help with this or any other problem just tell me! =)

You have got to tell his parents or someone who you all trust. He needs help. If he is telling you, then he is begging for some sort of help. It feels awful when you know that they are thinking about it, and then they follow through. It is even worse when you don't know why they did it.
