what should i do?
im tryin to make a long story short it mite be hard to make out, and if it is, go to my column...im southern_chickety, and ask me!!
i've wanted to be an actress for the past 2 years
i love acting, and i take theatre classes, my mom wont support me in it tho, because the said it's a hard career, and it wont be easy to find a job, and it wont be cheap, and we dont have the money to spend, i mean my parents are raising 3 kids, and they have one in college
i wanna go to acting skool and stuff, but now every1 is sayin if i go to acting skool ill just become a broadway actress, and i dont wanna do broadway, i wanna do movies
i'm really confused, should i follow my dreams,and try to be an actress or listen to the family¿¿??

ok ive wanted to be an actess ever since i was 3 and luckily my mom has helped me! and going to acting classes will not make u a broadway actress! u can be whatever. if u truley wanna be an actress for all the right reasons then dont let ur mom stop u! if there are any school plays , try out show her how much u love it! hope i helped!

If this is something that you really want to do, then go for it! If money is an issue and your parents are so up-tight about it, then get a job and find some place where they offer Screen Acting, like an agency or something. You will probably fine that in the phone book. There is a difference between Theatre Acting and Screen Acting and if u want to become a movie star, i would consider the Screen Acting. Since you are taking advice from a professional of the acting business, try and remember these tips...1) Acting may come natural to you, and it may take a while, or a year or few. 2) If you want your dream to come true, then you must stay true to yourself. 3) If you want your dream to come true, you must have faith in your self. 4) Always stay positive, no matter who tells you or how much someone tells you anything negative. 5)When it comes to auditons, it may take 1,000 no's, and maybe, just maybe there will be 1 yes. 6) If you feel like your never gonna get in an audition, STAY positive and say I will do a 1,000 more because I never know who will want me in their movie/show. 7) Directors and Producers will look all over the world to find that one person that they are looking for, so don't give your hopes up!
I might have more advice for you once I get in the big screens, because I have been there, but i'm staying positive. I have auditioned for a number of things, last audition i auditioned for Nickeloadeon and didn't get in, I was bummed but now i'm gonna audition for the Disney Channel, and if they love me then they can have me, if they dont, i'll move on.

I want to be an actress to! ONLY i want to do broaday, lol! Anywayz Follow your dream! And you shouldnt care what anybody thinks, especially your family, and if you understand that it will be hard and understand the whole situation then nothing can stop you. Most ppl dont go strait to movies youll probebly end up doing a few stage plays befor you get there but you will soon! It depends on what you like. You want to do movies then go to the college "American Academy of Dramatic Arts" in hollywood. They will set you up to go all the way. Then there is BYU and there is southern utah university if you are interested in shakespear. It will really matter the most in college.

I think you should follow your dream of being a movie actress, but you should also have a backup plan. You could find another interest that would be a good career if acting doesn't work out.

When you get to college, you can still take theatre classes in addition to whatever else you want to pursue. It is terribly hard to be an actress, but it isn't impossible. It is possible to double major--its tough but doable. So you could major in performance and something else or minor in performance. Some of the best movie actresses started in Broadway,and they sometimes return there. So don't blow off Broadway. In the mean time find some community theatre to audition for. There is a lot of that going on.

Acting is the way to go! MY friends have started out small, like community and school drama plays, then, look up a talent search (barbizon was recommended by a few of my friends) It's expensive, but modeling and acting agencies do get you into movies, talent scouts are everywhere too, especially in malls, and they love actors and actresses who have brght personalities.

U could have funraisers and try to get enough money. U could get a group of friends and do a carwash or do a garage sale!! Ur friends could pitch in and help u! just think about the things u could do to fufill ur dreams. i know how u feel. i want to become a singer, but my mom and family r the same way. just believe in ur self and try ur hardest. I wish i could do dat with myself, but i just have too much stress. i hope i helped.

You can always go with ur dream but in college have a backup course.Like u can take acting classes but take another class too like teaching..doctor..etc.SO if u dont make it in acting you can always have another job.Good luck!=)
