good music magizines

Question Posted Tuesday June 29 2004, 2:14 pm

ok.. like 3 years ago i decided to decorate my room with posters and pictures from all the musicians i liked. well this was in 7th grade and i liked britney spears and all that, but i hate that kind of music now.
i want to take all those posters down and put up new ones with good bands (thursday, dashboard, NOFX, ataris, new found glory.. etc.) does anyone kow of any magizines that have these kinds of bands in them, instead of the teen mags that have justin timberlake and chingy..
i really appreciate your help!!

hugs and kisses,

~simplysweetstar~

To get nice music posters, it's usually easier just to buy them in a music store. Stores like FYE and Media Play usually have a wide selection of posters, even stories like Hot Topic and Spencers usually have rock/metal/punk posters. Hope I helped! Em'lee

ok i love all those bands 2...the best magazine 2 get is alternative press.i would get one issue in the store then order it by mail...its so much cheeper if u get it in the mail rather than going 2 the store 2 get it.also another good idea is maybe u can shurch 4 bands u liek onlnie and u can print out some pictures or u will probably find a store that sells posters in it.

you could always turn the old posters backwards and form negative space (if you have a painted wall). This is most effective if they don't have anything on the back and your walls are dark. Also, if your walls are dark this can form a bit of unusual light and forced happiness. All that with color, wow!

If you have light-colored walls you could try a technique with spray paint on the back of the posters (with adults present because not only is spray paint [or anything in an aerosal can] flammable, but it's highly toxic and we wouldn't want anyone passing out for hours). The backside should be shiny enough that paint takes a while to dry. Use this knowledge to your advantage and drag spoons or combs around in the paint while it's wet. This will create a weird effect.

All these are so much cooler than band posters. Unless you listen to The Beatles...

It's hard to find just picturesof those people in magizines, but sometimes if you go on the computer you can print out good size pictures of them..and, every so often in Teen People they have bands like Dashboard, or Good Charlotte, you just have to look at the cover and read them before you actually buy them.

AP magazine has those kinds of bands in there. Sometimes TeenPeople and YM will have like pics or posters of Chris Carrabba (dashboard) But yeah sometimes they will have britney spears too. But AP won't have Britney spears and Justin.
