plz help me
Hi im Shelly and Im 14. I have had pets before but they have died. I did at one point have 6 rabbits but 2 we gave to my dads friends daughters and the rest have died. I don't know why thought. We look after them well and dont treat them bad we give them plenty of exercise too but still they died. I have 1 rabbit now and she is 2. I have wanted a dog for ages but my mum won't let me have one. She said its because she doesn't want a dog in the house, but she loves my uncles dog loads. I am starting to think the reason is because she doesn't trust me to have anymore pets. plz help me to change my mums mind.

hey i understand wut ur going thru.
my mom thought i was irresponsible and then i found my best friend which was a boxer dog and she was my uncles.he lives write up a trail thru the woods frum me.and i always wud visit her.every afternoon he let her out her pen to play around.and she wud always come to my house.so he gave her to me.and we both loved each other.she was an amazing dog.my mom saw how responsible i was.when my dog got killed by a car my mom let me get another dog because she saw how responsible i was.so maybe if u just show your mom that you can be trusted she might let you get a puppy.hope i helped and im sorry this was so long. -carolineh

try getting a rabbit book for beginners and reading it, then showing her how responsible you are with her. maybe she just doesnt want a dog in the house, try to get a small dog to start out with, they usually arnt that rough, they might need some more training though because they might be a baby.

wut i think is lyk ur mom doesnt want a dog in the house cuz dogs can b wild n ruin ur house... mayb u can ask ur mom if u can keep it outside all the time. but make sure itz not a puppy. u can put the bowls outside n feed him b4 school n when u get home 4rm school n on weekends u can take it 4 a walk cuz it does need attention. o n when u open the door to go outside to feed him or sumthing jus make sure he doesnt get in... ur mom prolly wouldnt like that. <3 xogiggles37xo.

well yur pets might have died befor for cuz of sum in da ground or the water it could be contaminated with sum so have yur home and land checked and stand ^ to yur mom and say it isnt my fallt my pets died i took care of them very well and loved them very much did u every stop and think it is sum in our land or water i know i can take care of a dog i would love it very much and it isnt fare cuz all ma other pets have died and they could have all been sick and gave ther sickness to eachother so mom give me a chance please i want a best frend to give me uncondishnal luv ther u go.

Dont worry I was in the same place you were. My mom let me and my sister have birds and hamsters and all of that. But never a dog, because "WE WERENT RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH" so, wut we did was act responsible...cleaning your room and helping with the house without being told to really helps alot. It shows that your mom wont have to tell you that you have to take him/her for a walk, she wont have to tell you to feed or play with him/her. 9 times out of 10 it works, and you have to understand that a dog is a BIG responsability, bigger than a little rabbit. You can also discuss with her how much a dog will mean to you.....like having some one to talk to when you unhappy or sad.

Just because she loves your uncle's dog isn't a reason to get one. Dogs are a HUGE responsibility and the decision to get one should not be taken lightly. Maybe she loves your uncles dog because she doesn't have to wash it or walk it or pay for vet visits or clean up its little accidents around the house. Prove to your mom that you can be responsible, and maybe she will reconsider.

Dogs are NOT easy pets to own. They require lots of attention and money. Ask her why you can't get one. It is the issue of money, time, or responsibility? In the mean time take care of your rabbit the best you can. If the only reason is that she dosn't trust you (which I highly doubt it) you will know after a couple months.
Find a breed of dog that is easy to care for and do as much research as possible on that dog. Tell her why you want it and don't lose interest in the dog you picked.
Maybe she is telling the truth and dosn't want a dog in her house. There are just some things you have to live with. Are there any other pets you might like to have?

I think you should truly just ask her if she might be hiding something, like about you, why your mum wont get you a dog. Or maybe just try to be a little more responsible, then maybe she'll soften up. Hope that works out for you!

Well shelly one of the reasons your pets die is because its life everything dies it was just there time. And for your mom you could probably just show her that you can take care of a dog and that not all dogs are house dogs alot are out side dogs. Tell her ull get the dog a house for out side. And bath it and feed it normally. Just show her that you can handle it. The reason she might say no is because dogs are bigger responsiblity then rabbits are. They need more attention and more care for. Plus there messier and just harder to take care of ingeneral. Thats all i can say for right now i hope iv helped you a little bit. That's depressing. They all died. It's probably not because she doesn't trust you. Dogs are fun to play with, but they're also extremely messy, and difficult to clean up after. You have to train them to go outside, they shed, theystink up the entire house, they're a huge mess. She probably just doesn't want to deal with the mess. Try to convince her to let you have a small dog.

List reasons why you can own a dog, and reasons that you are a good owner. Or you can buy a plant, and make a deal with you mom. Say that if you can keep the plant alive for a few months, that you are responsible, if you dont keep it alive for a few months, then you dont get a dog.
