Yes, your depression could be a factor in this. Food is a comfort to many people. Maybe you eat because you're bored-- I do. Try to fall into a routine, where you do something with your hands after a meal. I used to eat while I watched TV, not because I was hungry, but just to do something with my hands. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. When you are thirsty, your brain sometimes gets confused and tells you that you need to eat. Another tip is to brush your teeth with minty toothpaste after every meal. This discourages you from eating for a little because the minty taste + whatever you try to eat afterward will leave a bad taste in your mouth. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

tommiegurlie23 answered Friday June 18 2004, 3:05 pm: I think you might not be eating the right kind of nourishment for your body. For example if you dont eat any carb or meat lets say, you are getting completly full of all the vitamains so your body goes into a sort of starvation phase. i think you should make sure youre
1. Drinking lots of liquids ESPECIALLY water
2. Try and eat all different color food! Like fruits and Veggies so then you know you are getting different vitamins.
3. Balance all your meals out to make sure your getting a bit of each food group
4. EXCERCISE! It will help you look better, but more importantly feel better about yourself! Good luck! write me back if you need more help! [ tommiegurlie23's advice column | Ask tommiegurlie23 A Question ]

XoTruebrunettExO answered Thursday June 17 2004, 11:30 pm: your depression may have some things to do with this.. if you don't like how you look, you're the only one who controlls that. if you are still hungary try to controll yourself and not eat anything after that unless you have a really big craving.. im not saying that you shouldn't have a snack or something after dinner but wait a little while and don't have it directly after dinner. also, you could try excersing. i wouldn't go on any diets though, you might end up starving yourself or something. also, if you want to stop this eating thing ( if it is apart of your depression ) then maybe you should find the cause of that and get through that first and then maybe you will conquer your eating habits.
storageanddisposal answered Thursday June 17 2004, 11:27 pm: Yes, depression can have something to do with it. And 135 isn't too much. Try eating a lot of healthy foods, and then do some exercises. Several of my friends tell me that physical activity is supposed to help make you happier. I'm not really sure I believe that, but it's worth a shot. Take care, I'm sure you'll be fine. iLjaG answered Thursday June 17 2004, 11:06 pm: Something that helped me lose weight was the Atkins diet. I know its a little Cliche, but it works! I used to be around 215 and I dropped down to 180 within about 3 months.
The depression may have something to do with your eating patterns. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about getting an anti-depressant or something of that nature.
LykViolencUhavMe answered Thursday June 17 2004, 10:52 pm: it might be that ur depression makes u want to eat but it could really just be that u arent getting the right nutrition. even eating a whole full meal could not give u the right nutrients. for example if u r eating protien and what ur body really needs is iron even if u fill urself up w/ that protien, such as meat, ur body might will tell u r hungry because what u really need is iron. so if possible go to a doctor and have them tell u what u might be low on and balance urself out. i hope this helps!
