I only started my periods and I feel faint sometimes
Question Posted Saturday June 5 2004, 7:11 am
I only started my periods abouit a year ago, but recently they've been really heavy (like MASSES of blood), and I feel faint sometimes. Is it normal to be like this or is there something wrong with me? by the way, I'm 14. Please answer asap because I'm really worried

MFS answered Monday June 14 2004, 11:27 pm: talk to a doctor... for some, that can be "normal". I knew a girl who had her entire period in the course of one day with cramps so bad she threw up all day long. She usually just sat in the shower most of the day she had it because there was no use in her using a tampon or pad. She was later put on birth control - hormones - to control her period so that she didn't suffer like that any more. And what she went through was suffering. Excessive bleeding can be signs of other things - seriously, talk to a doctor. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]

Have you told your doctor? as this could be making you animic, which isn't good. If you haven't already spoken to her/im then I really think you need to talk to your doctor, ASAP.
