I only started my periods and I feel faint sometimes

Question Posted Saturday June 5 2004, 7:11 am

I only started my periods abouit a year ago, but recently they've been really heavy (like MASSES of blood), and I feel faint sometimes. Is it normal to be like this or is there something wrong with me? by the way, I'm 14. Please answer asap because I'm really worried

Well I think if it continues much longer you might want to get it checked out at your doctor, it might be serious. If you are athletic then your periods get heavier and stronger, but it might just be something little. I would go to a doctor and just consult him or her to see what they think. I hope I helped.

this is normal some girls are differant and are haevier than others you can talk to your mom about it because birth conrtol does help with that and it helps with cramps too.

Well i would say go to your docto you might have something called VON WELLBRAN DECIESE it is kinda common but the doctor can give you tablets and things to slow it down and have less pain. i would just say go and see a doctor.

Perfectly normal. Try eating more meat, or taking a multi-vitamen so you don't feel so faint.

talk to a doctor... for some, that can be "normal". I knew a girl who had her entire period in the course of one day with cramps so bad she threw up all day long. She usually just sat in the shower most of the day she had it because there was no use in her using a tampon or pad. She was later put on birth control - hormones - to control her period so that she didn't suffer like that any more. And what she went through was suffering. Excessive bleeding can be signs of other things - seriously, talk to a doctor.

I wouldn't have said it was normal to loose so much blood you feel faint. Have you told your doctor? as this could be making you animic, which isn't good. If you haven't already spoken to her/im then I really think you need to talk to your doctor, ASAP.

Good luck :)
