Everyone starts their period at different times. I have a friend who started hers at 11 so you are beat :). dont worry about it, but dont hide it from your family, the thing you are gonna need now is assistance both physical and emotional. ]
Hey, I would enjoy not having your period yet! It comes with all sorts of wonderful cramps and headaches and such that have already been mentioned. Everyone's different, I began my period when I was 9, as did my best friend, but other friends didn't start till they were 14 and some not till they were 16. Don't fret, it'll come when your body is ready for it :) ]
If 13 is the average age to get your period, you are still ok. I would not worry about it.
Sometimes a lot of stress will delay your period. ]
You should see a doctor if you haven't had it by the time you're 16. 13 is sort of an average age. Don't get too excited about it, it's not all that great. ]
I got my period, like, 2 months before I turned 13. If you have "hair down there," it's just a sign of pubrity. Seriously, though, enjoy not having your period for as long as you can. It's a real pain in the...er, neck once it starts. Cramps, migranes, lightheadedness...(the first and last being symptoms of mine)...it's not fun. Don't try to grow up too fast. Also, I have a friend who got her period after she turned sixteen. Don't worry too much about it. =)

Getting "hair down there" is merely a sign that you're hitting puberty, so you don't have long to wait. Once you start getting some underarm hair and pubic hair (technical term), your period will generally start anywhere between 6 months and a year after you've begun to develop. I got my first period when I was twelve, but I was always a lot bigger-boned and breasted than other girls my age. :-P Enjoy not having your period while it lasts, becuase it's a pain once it starts. ]
