Start an email list or newsletter about a relevant topic and get that listed in web directories too.

Make a blog and keep it updated at least a few times a week. Get that listed too.

Put your URL in your email signature.

Go to online community sites like [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and join up with your URL in your profile. Then find out which columnist would be the best to approach about getting your site listed in their directory. At BackWash your site may be included in newsletters and communities once it gets listed the first time in a column.

Join email lists and when you make a relevant post include your URL in your signature line.

Check for newsgroups, you can go through Google News now and do the same as with email lists.

Trade links with other webmasters.

Consider writing and exchanging content with other webmasters too.

Make an eye catching, unique, cute, etc web graphic for people to take to link to your site in their blogs, and etc.

Apply to edit a category at Dmoz which is relevant to your site. That way you get it listed and you can compare your site to similar sites and see what works for them.

Good luck.

Go around signing other peoples' guestbooks, particularly people with sites like yours. Try to get a few affiliated sites. If you wind up with an affiliates more popular than you, you can get a lot of hits through them. I have more than 20 affiliates for my site, I think. It's good for all sites involved. Join webrings, too. And banner exchanges. I'm only plugged into the Star Wars fanpage realm, but those are the methods we use.

Well...if you could post a link to it, we could help you figure out what's wrong with it. I can't help if I know nothing about the site.

I have no idea what your site is about. Is it possible it's got good content, but content about something no one really cares about? It's possible no one is looking for your site (or one like it, containing the info yours has) and that's why no one's found it?
