Which is better, brownies made from brownie mix or brownies made from scratch?

It depends on the recipe. Some box recipes are pretty vile. Others are pretty darn good. Baking from scratch is also fun, too, though. A while ago a friend of mine had a cake party and baked a layer cake from scratch. It was to die for. Of course, these recipes can go awry, too. So it just comes down to personal preference, I guess.

Never had Brownies made from brownie mix,never had any that aren't made either by my dad or to his recipe.(His brownies are about to take over the world)
Making them from scratch is probably better because you have more control over the quality of the ingredients but Brownie mix is easier if more expensive.

Well, my mom just made brownies with mix from the box, and they're quite excellent. It all depends on how good at baking you are. I mean, if you burn the brownies, they're gonna suck no matter how you made them.

A brownie mix has basically the same dry ingredients that you would use for ones made from scratch. The wet ingredients will make the biggest difference in quality. The one that tastes better will use butter and not margarine, and higher fat milk instead of skim. It's all about the quality of the ingredients.

i hear that things from scratch are always better, or at least make people think theyre better. theres just a "better" type of connotation when someone says "i made them from scratch!" y'know?
