What does "organic" mean?

I was going to buy some groceries yesterday and carrots were on the list. I went to the produce section to choose my carrots and found a sign that said some of them (slightly more expensive, by the way) were organic. I've been seeing "organic" on more products lately and was curious what exactly that meant. I just know somebody here on Advicenators knows :)

My friend told me that she is gay and I do not want to be friends with her anymore. It's not that I don't like her as a person but I cannot grasp the fact that she has become a lesbian. Just months ago she was dating men and now she is claiming homosexuality. I don't like it and the entire thing makes me uncomfortable. I'm trying to avoid her now more than ever since she has confessed her sexuality to me and I feel that I need to just tell her to her face why I no longer have interest in our friendship. How should I tell her? What should I say? I don't want to come off as cruel by saying, "You're a homosexual and that makes me too uncomfortable to continue a friendship with you," but at the same time I think it sounds most ...

What happened to the Project Michelle banner on Advicenators?

For months I saw this green banner at the top of Advicenators for some asian woman who had cancer, I think. (Was it cancer? Does anybody remember?) Anyway, I think it was called Project Michelle and it was trying to find help for her. Anyway, it's gone now and I was curious as to why it went away or whatever. Anybody know about it?

I am trying to break myself of a rather harmful addiction that I let get to the point where it was the only thing I enjoyed in life. My whole life began to revolve around it and it has some serious side effects associated with it. I've just decided that I've had enough of this stupid lifestyle and want to move on to a REAL life.
So, I'm trying to find something else I can enjoy with the same passion so I can stay clean, but I'm not having much luck so far. I don't know other HEALTHY options that I can become associated with. What should I do? Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

Is it ever a bad idea to tell someone how you feel about them?

I really want to tell my boyfriend how much he means to me but I'm really nervous about it. I suck at expressing my feelings and I don't want it to come off as something forced, you know? I just want to let him know that he means a lot to me and that I, well, love him.
I mean, I know he might not feel as strongly about me as I do about him but that's okay with me right now. We haven't been going out too long so I don't expect him to say, "I feel the same way about you!" I just feel like I should tell him what I think about our relationship and how I feel about him...
Is it a bad idea since I'm not good at talking about my feelings or is it something that is ok?

I am SO incredibly afraid of bugs. Any type of bug can really freak me out. Usually I end up crying and feel like I am going to pass out. I end up with wanting to throw up, too.
I know most people aren't so afraid of insects. I mean, my fears goes as far as harmless bugs like butterflies. I simply do not want their legs to touch me. It freaks me out to even think about their legs crawling on my skin.
The most I could come up with was a fear since infancy, as I was taken to the hospital because I had SO many insect bites on me. The doctors just informed them that I was more allergic than most people to these bites and needed to be kept away from times I would come in contact with bugs. Of course, I don't...

me and this guy, we say were "best friends" but we flirt NONSTOP everytime we're together, and i just don't know if its us being comofortable with each other, or if we both want to be more, if we're just really attracted to each other or if its just a best friend kinda thing. i'll give you a couple examples of what we do and i'll get your opinion!(:

okey s i go to a shrink or what you call it..and i have this problem with my mood.i am uaualy depressed,but i could feel atop of the World sometimes like i can do ANYTHING and i would be like kinda hyperactive and feeling oh god so good and well like there is nothing better in the world than that feeling,(its very rare maybe 2-4 times a year)anyway it just lasts from 1-5 days i think..can be 1 can even be for some hours..and then i can get SHIT depressed again.anyway now i go on cipralex and i have this feeling again often and i got it when i started them aswell..and i dont feel like myself..i dont think about consequenses of my actions. but my shrink talked about bipolar and said the a top of the world need to last for minimum a week..is t...

Babysitting

Okay, so I have a lot of babysitting experience, all with kids I know. The kids all knew and like me already. I have a mother's helper job tomorrow to watch 2 kids at a playground with their mom. A whole bunch of other kids will be there. I am kind of nervous, though, because I don't know either of the kids, just the mom. I know that the kids are good, but very shy. I'm kind of nervous about getting the kids to like me, and what to do with them at the playground. Any ideas? I need them within the next 2 hours because it's tomorrow. (The job)

My car is pulling to the right

i recently bought a used car and was talking to my moms boyfriend about it. It pulls to the right and he said it could ither be the wheel alignment or tires. i know the back tires need to be changed but my question is whcih one is it more likely to be and if it is the alignment how long can i wait until it will start messing up my wheel barrings? im a little tight on money so i wont beable to do it right away

where i live i cant get a job, i have to be 16.
i want to save up money to buy a car, and i need to do it fast.
so since i cant have a job..what are ways i can make money quick?
anything online i can do?
how old do you have to sell something online?
i cant do anything like car washes or lemonade stands.
