Never2bAlone answered Monday April 28 2014, 2:36 pm: It depends on her likes. Is she a really girly girl then I would buy one of those Barbie heads where she can style and cut the hair complete with the combs brushes hair dryer. Or maybe dress up clothes with the little dress up heals. If you don't have a lot of money you should focus on inexpensive but big. Kids love toys that are big. If she is artistic you could buy this really cool crayola jewelry designer thing. It's at Wal-Mart. I want it for myself it's so cool. The machine lets you melt whatever colors you choose on like a ring or bracelet etc. Wal-Mart also has this kit where you make things necklaces belts etc out of little colorful rubberbands. Give year old are at an age of creativity organization of their own belongings so think of gifts of unique creativity she canshow off what she created and she can keep it for awhile not just a one time use. I hope this helps. [ Never2bAlone's advice column | Ask Never2bAlone A Question ]
samieeeey answered Monday April 28 2014, 9:08 am: Apologies for the late reply. I've been away.
As I don't know your daughter it's hard for me to say.
As she's at the age of starting school you could get her a pack of coloring pencils/felt tips and a cool pencil case for it? As it's still educational!
But for something bigger possibly an electric kids car (I know you can get barbie ones and such).
If you watch the kids channels there will be alot of ideas in the adverts :)
Rena-Chan answered Saturday April 26 2014, 7:10 pm: No one knows their baby as well as the mother. Have you noticed anything she's taken a liking to? Also, at age 5, she may be in the wanting to learn new things stage. They have many toys and such that are educational. Perhaps investing in a mobigo I believe they are called, would be a good thing. Not only a mobigo though, they have many different learning toys that come with cartridges and downloadable content. I recently purchased for my son a vtech vreader for his birthday and he loves it, it teaches reading, math, science, etc. It also has downloadable content to match up with your daughters personality as well. It's never too early to teach our little ones ^_^ If anything though, go for what you notice her interests take more to. [ Rena-Chan's advice column | Ask Rena-Chan A Question ]
Valentina answered Wednesday April 23 2014, 2:45 pm: It depends what she's into. Is she a girly girl, or a bit of a tom boy?
As a child I loved anything pink and sparkly, that was to do with princesses or fairies (or even better a princess fairy).
1) Does she like cooking with you? You could get her a play kitchen.
2) Does she like arts and crafts? You could get her an art box with a book on different things to make with her.
3) Does she like dressing up? You could get her some outfits so she can dress up as different things eg: an astronaut or an explorer
4) Is she interested in make up? Don't panic I'm not saying put lots of make up on her but maybe a light colour nail varnish set would be nice and its something to do together. Or if you think she's a little young, you can get dolls that you can do their hair and make up.
5) Does she like babies and want to be a mummy? You can get some great baby dolls that you can play with. Some are scarily real.
I hope this helps :) if not message me back and I'll try again :)
matty28 answered Tuesday April 22 2014, 5:30 pm: Depends on how girly she is, if she loves fairys and princesses then maybe consider a doll or a dressing up costume, if she is more of a tomboy then some baseball boots or a bat may be cool, hope this helps. Remember you can't go wrong with colouring pens! [ matty28's advice column | Ask matty28 A Question ]
NinjaNeer answered Tuesday April 22 2014, 2:48 pm: I think it really depends on what type of girl your daughter is. I was overjoyed with gifts of Lego and a chemistry set, but other girls like tea parties and dress-up.
Try to get clues from your daughter. What sort of things is she into? What are her interests? Any way that you can indulge her natural passions is fantastic. Get creative, too; sometimes the best gift is an experience. Maybe she's super into animals, so you could take her for one-on-one time at the zoo. Things like that.
RoxyK96 answered Tuesday April 22 2014, 11:11 am: With a little sister of the age of 6, if she is anything like her she'll like littlest pet shops, bratz dolls, lalaloopsy dolls, or maybe Disney movies if she has the patience to sit and watch them. My little pony is also a really big thing she's into :) hopefully I've help, good luck lovely :) [ RoxyK96's advice column | Ask RoxyK96 A Question ]
gr8fruit answered Tuesday April 22 2014, 4:24 am: It honestly all depends on what your child likes... but I would get her a drawing book with different colored pencils/crayons/markers, a play set of some sort, a giant puzzle, beads and stretchy string for bracelets, a couple dolls/toy animals or something she can cuddle with in bed. Ultimately, it depends what kind of kid she is and what she finds interesting. Hope this helps :) [ gr8fruit's advice column | Ask gr8fruit A Question ]
Dragonflymagic answered Tuesday April 22 2014, 3:59 am: I see you posted two questions today. The other issue about Dad likeing gardening, mom wont let him. You don't say if you are male or female or your age. Your first question needing advice on what to get your five year old daughter floored me.
How did you cope for years 1 through 4? Did you ask for advice then too? If you are truly the mother and this is your child, how it is that you have no clue what your child likes?
I know what my children like. Any observant parent will be able to figure that out. But then perhaps you are a young teen parent living at home with your parents and you don't have much parenting skills yet. In this case, your parents should have a better clue what you should get your daughter. Your daughter is a stranger to me, I know nothing about her. Don't know if she is drawn more to art than to building things, if she has a favorite color, nothing. I know nothing. So how can you expect me to know what she will appreciate most? You did not ask for ideas on age appropriate gifts for a 5 yr old girl...now that makes sense and then you choose out of those suggestions something you know she would love. Your next question didn't make much sense. I will answer that next. [ Dragonflymagic's advice column | Ask Dragonflymagic A Question ]
missundersmock answered Tuesday April 22 2014, 2:30 am: well something thats age appropriate first off. people tend to just buy kids things and not remember that they dont have the skills yet to use the actual item, so start with that and go from there. if you want to give her an awesome birthday party though you could do a glow stick or glow in the dark party and have it right as the sun is going down, and have glo9w in the dark stuff as party favors. just a thought ; ) [ missundersmock's advice column | Ask missundersmock A Question ]
