You should get your parents or legal guardian involved with this. And if you can't do that, tell the adminstration, and have others to back you up on it. Or, to start off with, you yourself could talk with that teacher on your own time, before you really do anything, to see what the problem is. He sounds like a big 'ol meanie, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll persevere.

Stick with it if the subject interests you. Don't give that teacher the satisfaction of running you out of there.

I'd suggest talking to a guidence councilor. They're trained to be sensative to you and should help you out greatly.

You need to let someone know about that cuz thats really messed up. Tell the counselor about it..im sure they could help you out. If that class is taught with another teacher then try to get in that class.

talk to your counselor and see if you can change teachers. that way you're more likely to have a teacher that understands

What you need to do is have a talk with the principal or something and tell him wtf is going on. That teacher sending you out everyday is really messed. Something needs to be done with this guy and your just the person to do it. Good luck but dont go down without a fight.

TucanFullOfHoles answered Saturday November 20 2004, 8:32 pm:
alright, i'm dislexic as well. your teacher has no right to pick on you BECAUSE of that. He can't just send you out of the room for no reason. Go to your vice principal, or your prinicipal. if that doesn't work, go to your superentendent, go to your mayor. he can't descriminate against you for something that you can't help

Theres a teacher at my high school that odes the exact same thing because hes a control freak. The only reason people don't do something about it, is because daddy dearest of his IS the viceprincipal.

I suppose you could drop the subject. Try and get it with another teacher next semester.

good luck, and remember, you have more rights than he does!

If your teacher is picking on your because you are dyslexic, he is breaking the law. Treating someone in a cruel or harmful way because they have different abilities is not only uninformed, but illegal.

I'd speak to a guidance counselor, your parents, another teacher you trust, or the principal...if you know that the dyslexia is the problem, rather than your actual behaviour.

You shouldn't drop a class which you enjoy or could be useful to you in the future; hopefully there is more than one science class/teacher, or at the very least the principal can speak with your current teacher.

It's your responsibility to write down the dates/times he makes hurtful or innappropriate comments, what he says or does, and then tell someone. You're only allowing yourself to be a victim if you keep your mouth shut or drop the class.

You have every right to a good education, whether you have dyslexia or not. If anything, the school has a responsibility to provide you with extra support.

Stand up for yourself. Good luck.

Courtney answered Saturday November 20 2004, 6:56 pm:
No way . DO NOT DROP THAT CLASS . Do forgive me but you need to talk to your principle/administrator/guidance counselor/parents. Someone . Tell them this :

One of a teachers job is to encourage students to learn, not to discourage them . This teacher has been discouraging me from getting a proper education , and I feel that this isn't right . I feel harrassed and persecuted, and I go to school to recieve neither feeling . I go to school to learn and if this continues, I'm afraid that I'll have to report him to school board .

DON'T BE AFRAID TO USE YOUR VIOCE'CAUSE YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK UP . ESPECIALLY WHEN IT INVOLVES YOUR EDUCATION . SO SPEAK UP .

definitly talk to a guidance counsulor/principal/your parents because that is breaking some sort of rule. they could possibly switch your teacher, or talk to him about what he is doing and be warned. im sorry your teacher is giving you a hard time, you really dont deserve to be taken away from a learning experience just because your teacher is mean. hope things get better real soon =] -ask_anything

Talk to your guidance consular or something. See if there are any other teachers that teach history. If there isn't and you just can't stand the class drop it and find somethinge else you might like.
