my school does assigned seating for lunch period. somehow, the past two times they've assigned new table groups, i've sat with one of the same girls. the entire time ive had lunch period with her, i've never seen her eat more than an apple, or occasionaly she nibbles on one of those 100 calorie packets. when i've asked her about it, she always said she's already eaten, or she's not hungry. she isn't a skinny girl, and she doesn't seem to be losing any weight. still, this doesn't seem healty. i'm not sure what to do, or if i should do anything at all. please help!
Right now, I'm on a low calorie diet. For lunch, I eat a simple fruit salad and a water. I've lost about 8 pounds so far...
It just seems like she's on a similar diet as me, where she is counting what she takes in and limiting herself. I love those snack packs too, they're great for calorie counting.
Don't do anything, it's not really something she seems to need help with in my opinion.
Also, she may not appear to be losing weight but it does take time and sometimes the change is unnoticeable. Just let her do what she wants to, and hopefully it will result in her losing some weight and feeling better about herself :)
I'm not sure what my condition is, or if I even have one, but it's like this:
Everytime I go to walk around my block, or if I'm in the house alone (and I babysit!), I freak out. I look around frantically, even running from room to room! Is this normal? I don't get it as a severity (sp), but it's not exactly too light either. What can I do to prevent this sort of thing happening to me? Thanks.
I can relate exactly to you. I get completely freaked out when I walk around my block or neighbourhood, despite the fact it is safe. I also have a huge problem being alone in my house, so much that I lock myself in my room most of the time. At least, I used to.
I went to see a psychologist about a year ago to work out those fears. Basically, he said to me "how many times has what you're worried about actually happened? How many times has someone broken into your home while your inside, or someone elses while they are home?" I thought about it, and besides the movies, its not common at all.
He then told me that breathing in and out, and just concentrating on that, helps a lot. It actually does.
Just try to think about the security around you. Your neighbours are always going to be there, and unless you are walking around at night it's very unlikely that someone is going to try to hurt you.
If you're really worried still, get pepper spray or carry a cellphone around with you. The comfort of another person is always helpful.
hi all.
i'm getting my braces off in a month (and counting every day!). my ortho told me i should get wires placed on the back of my teeth to support and keep them straight for a while. is this normal and has anyone else out there have these on?
its a thin piece of wire that is glued on the BACK of your top and botton teeth. i'm getting the normal retainers and these wires are just extra support i guess. any info on these wires would be great (eg. does it affect anything... and i mean.. anything!)
cheers 22/f
The wires are perfectly normal. They are more like a permanent retainer because you can't remove them. I have these wires on the back of my teeth right now, and a lot of people need them. The wires make it harder to floss (easier then braces however) and you should just be careful with sticky foods. Otherwise, theres no problems with it.
So I am a "couch potato" so to speak, but I actually just plain don't like exercise. For 5 years I have not done anything besides being forced to in gym class. How do I start exercising again? I want to focus on running.
I'm such a couch potato as well. Recently, I decided I wanted to get into shape, so I started running. Just half an hour every day, even going for a nice walk... For the first few days I was so tired and my legs were sore and I just wanted to go watch tv... but that went away and it started to get easy.
You probably don't realize this, but gym class is what is keeping you at your weight or around your weight. I gained about 15 pounds because I got into highschool and stopped taking gym. You need to do running, walking... bike riding, swimming. Start off slow, a little more every day. It gets easier and funner, and find some friends to do it with. You can still spend time on the couch too!

Girls all get it at different times. I was the last person in my class to get it, it was completely embarassing. Truth is, enjoy the fact you have nothing to take care of. Cramps every month isn't exactly something to look forward to.
You actually sound like you're close to getting your period, and you probably will within the next 2 years or so.
Is it ok to ask the guy you like to prom on msn? I kinda work with him and we talk a little bit here and there. I think he likes me, but we haven't really hung outside of work. Would asking over msn be weird?
It depends on your way of thinking.
A lot of people have this energy to say things over msn that they usually can't say in person. Asking people out, breaking up, meeting new people... and sometimes it backfires. Not that the person won't say yes, but it may be awkward later on.
From experience, I was asked out by my friend through msn. I said yes, but it was a really strange date because he hadn't had the courage to ask me out in real life. Sometimes, that can happen.
I think it's up to what you feel more comfortable doing. If you prefer msn, then that is what you should do. Just make sure that it won't mean having a weird feeling the next time you see him.
Ok.. Here's the thing.. I'm 15 female & I'm 5'8" also.. Im like 175 pounds.. so yeah.. I'm overweight & it really sucks. I was wondering if anybody out there knew of any good websites with diet plans or exercise guides or anything. I mean, my biggest problem is stress with grades & all & when I'm stressed out I tend to eat. So.. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a healthy weight loss plan without the use of crash dieting.
Okay, so I've edited my answer so hopefully this will help you. I've calculated that your calorie requirement for each day is 2052 calories. This means, you can eat 2052 calories every day and you won't be eating too much.
Anyways, hopefully you know a pound is 3500 calories. I've done all the math so you don't have to. After working it out, if you eat 1552 calories daily or around that amount, you WILL lose a pound a week! If you exercise, you can lose even more weight! Now the main part of the diet I've described is calorie counting. You have to make sure to keep a calorie journal so you know how much you are taking in. It is annoying, but it works! Hopefully I helped you and you understand everything I'm saying. This is probably one of the healthiest diets because it doesn't say what you can and can't eat. Plus, once you've lost the weight you want you just start eating around your total, 2000 calories again!
1552 calories a day! And it's not hard... Water is 0 calories, fruits are usually under 100, vegetables are great... just watch out for dairy.
If you want to know any more just message me and I'll help you out. Remember, I'm JUST like you, and I know exactly what you are going through right now.
first of all is age 14 alright to be making out? but that's not as big a question as this...how far can you go before it is considered sex? like can the tops be off...but it still be making out?
i'll rate high thank you for anyone who answers!
Sex is defined as many things, but mainly... if the guys penis goes into a vagina, that's sex. You can both be lying there completely naked kissing, and it won't be considered sex.
How do I get a boy to like me without really telling him I like him?
Be yourself towards him, maybe flirt a little. Just let him get to know you and maybe then he will feel the same towards you.
And not to be mean to guys, but most of the time they have no idea what girls are thinking/feeling. That's from experience.
my name is Rachel and iam a 16 year old female and whenever I write, get tired or nervouse I tend to shake why do I do this is this normal?
I think this is normal. I also get this odd shaking feeling when I'm nervous, as well as tired. It's usually just my body sending me a message, like I need sleep or I need to calm down. I wouldn't worry about it, but if it gets really serious think about going to a clinic or a doctor and just seeing if it is anything serious.
I'm a sophomore in high school and sometime during my freshman year, I lost interest in boys my own age (and, for that matter, boys even remotely close to my age) and became interested in men. I was sure that it was a phase that all girls go through but I've found that I can't get over it and I'm totally unattracted to men that aren't at least eight years older than I am. I haven't pursued my interest in older men because I'm aware that I'm underaged and I could get a man into trouble but I feel like this interest is crippling me socially. I don't think I could EVER date a boy close to my age because I'm just not attracted to them but if I'm going to have to wait until I'm eighteen to find someone I'm really attracted to, should I just settle for someone close to my age? Is it normal for young woman to want men that much older than they are?
My mom met my dad when she was 17 in high school. My dad was 23 years old at the time. They dated for a while, and got married when she turned 21.
When I talk to her, she says that older guys were more mature, and she found she had a better time with them. A lot of people feel this way, and it isn't odd. I actually know people now that are dating older guys too. My best friend is dating a 22 year old, and she is 17. Where I live, it just depends what you do with that person. It is illegal to have sex, but not to date them. I don't know about where you live.
I think you should make yourself happy, and if dating someone older makes you feel good, then that's what you should do. It's all up to you.
we'll me and my bestfriend hang out every weekend and we hang out with these two boys, c and j and my best friend started to date c, and after a while me and j got kinda bored with having them date and everything so me and him we started talking a lot and some how we got to talking about becoming "friends with benefits" and at first it was just simple just us two making out but then after that it got more serious and well i let him finger me and i jacked him off and it was more then i intended to ever do with him, we'll now things have gotten more serious between me and him and well now he likes me and i like him, we arn't dating or anything but our feelings are gettn stronger everytime we talk and i've had sex before and so has he and well we always talk about maybe having sex with each other and now im thinking that maybe i shou;d..i need help on weather or not i should or not?
I think this is all up to you, and what you want to do. Do you want to continue being friends with benefits, or do you want more from him? If you want to be more, it's up to you to tell him about your feelings and then maybe start a relationship. If you slept with him, and a few days later he got a girlfriend, would you be upset? If you would, you do have feelings for him that you can't deny, and should probably tell him.
I have this friend who I met a few months ago. We became almost like best friends (emphasis on almost) until I noticed something..she follows me. If I don't show up for lunch one day she looks around the school for me. If I don't show up to meet with her and our "possy" in the morning one day, she goes everywhere to find me, and this just creeps me out. On top of that, she ALWAYS needs my help with math homework. Always. Whenever I help her, she just says "I don't know how to do it" and when I show her, she scoots so close to me and it makes me feel like punching her. I was doing my homework this morning and said I was busy so she sat there looking at me while I did it.
Anyways, I told another friend about this and SHE told HER. And so she cried during first period and ugh. What should I do?
male/16
Is there any possible way she could like you? She's a girl, you're a boy... maybe she wants your help to get closer to you, and possibly has a crush on you. That's why it may have hurt her so much, because not only did you not feel the same way, but found it weird. If this isn't the case, then maybe she just really cares about you. If you've been an important friend to her for a while now, she may depend on you to be there with her.
Um, OK I have NO IDEA what a iPod Shuffle is!!!!!!!!!
All I know is that it looks like a really skinny and short remote.
With like 5 buttons.
What the fruit does it do? is it the same as an iPod??
All i want is a ipod mini pink (i know they don't sell 'em but Froogle has some so pfft but they're EXPENSIVE)
so......
tell me what a shuffle is please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A shuffle doesn't have a screen, but many little buttons you can press. It's more of a memory ipod than the others. You can use shuffle to allow for songs to go at random, or you can select the songs. This is sort of hard because you have to remember the order. It's the same as an ipod but with less features... that's why it's cheaper.
Which of these thesis paper topics (about anything in American History)sounds more like a thesis & something a teacher would probably prefer?
1. Arthur Miller's personal life experinces were the biggest contributuions to his success as a great American playwright.
2. Many different events and issues in the later half of the 20th century helped to shape the ideology of American theatre.
(these would not be the final thesis sentences...i will re-word them...I just need a feel for which is better.)
I think the 2nd thesis statement sounds more apropriate, and you could probably use better ideas to support it.
hey...did anyone notice...that the new "in" thing is acting ghetto? last year,it wasnemo rock whatever....now its ghetto...what the heck? why cant people be original and now follow the crowd? how can i not follow ANY crowd? everyone in my school follows the trends...and im just there,i want to stick out ina good way...any way i could do that? thanks...also...are you with me on this?
Weird, our trend is emo. Everyone is chopping off their hair, dying it black, and being depressed.
I think that you should be any way you want to be. Dress however you feel like dressing and that is unique in itself, no one else can be you.
