okay so i do gymnastics and every time i do a roundoff for my roundoff backhandspring my thigh kills me because its so tight. Is there any way to make this pain go away when i do gymnastics (link)
yes there are many ways to stretch your hamstring. Ask your coach to help you or I am ALWAYS here. First I want you to get a friend or family member to help you do this stretch. Its a heelstretch position. You lay on your back with the leg up that is bothering you. Your friend or family member can help you push it towards your head. Make sure to keep both legs straight and not to go too far. Make sure the other person pushes slowly and not to the side. It is going to be very painful until it is loosened up a bit. Make sure to breathe and hang in there. Also you may want to stretch more before you start tumbling. And also warm up like jogging or jumping jacks before you start to stretch. If you don't it could end in a more serious injury. You may have also just pulled a muscle and it needs time to get back in regular mode. Ask me anything else if you need any more help and give me an update after a few of those stretches! Good luck!

HI I love my phone which is the dare. If you want a physical keyboard that opens up with buttons this isnt the phone. I like the touch screen keyboard though. You can play music, do aim,msn or yahoo messaging and internet. I personally love this phone.


15/f/uk, my prom is in a few weeks. I wanted a silver dress but couldn't find one and have a black one at the moment. If I keep the black dress, I'll need to customise it a bit and really accessorize to make it more interesting. I'm keen on the idea of red heels, and my dress will be quite short.

i am scared i am not going to make high school cheer... i need to get me jumps higher... do you have any advice of how to get all my jumps higher???? i sit in my splits EVERY day and it doesnt help that much... i am in competitive cheer and they help mw alot with my jumps but i just cant gett them higher and i practice on my trampoline and it kinda helps and i am going to start that strech that you said to do and hopefully it will help but in my prep when i hit my T one arm ios higher then the other... do you know any suggstions for me???? thanks!!!!! Do the stretch it helps!!! Trust me! Splits don't work. They only work for like gymnastics jumps! For the arms, squeeze them as much as you can! Do straight jumps and make sure your arms are in the right place! After about 30 -45 of those add your legs. If you feel your arms going up, take away the legs and just work on your arms. Eventually the will stick in the right place! Good luck and keep me updated on how it goes!!!

I would be glad to! When you land your roundoff, do these steps!

1. stretch your body up ^! Aim for the ceiling ^!
2. Don't go up too far! Arch your back like you do for your handspring. The more you go up the less pressure your hands will feel.
3. Snap your feet under you fast and don't keep your hands on the ground. To prevent falling, the second you land put your hands on your hips! It works trust me! Ask me if you need anything else!

okay so i do gymnastics every wensday thursday and friday. the class on wensday and friday is a half hour and thursday is an hour. i do roundoff back handsprings. everytime i leave my wrists really hurt like 81/2 9 on pain. i cant even move them and i cant open doors. she does wrap my wrists when i am at the gym. and when i came home the other day i put ice on it but it didnt help. i put ace bandages on it and after a little bit they started to help. im 16 by the way and i am driving with a permit. so when my wrists hurt i drive and they feel better. should i buy some sort of wrist suppporters for when i tumble? oh i switched my wensday class to monday. any advice? I know what you are going through! As a gymnast/cheerleader myself, I have had these problems. make sure when you go for your handspring, you go up. to me it sounds like you're going back which is putting pressure on your wrists. If you stretch up, your hands will not touch the ground as much or hard. Also, get an ace band or a wrist support brace. My favorite brand is FUTURO INFINITY. They sell as any wall greens or CVS. Don't put ice on it! that is probably the worst. Put heat on it like a heat pad. Ice can make your muscles tense up and they will hurt more.

Wow! That is a beautiful dress! I don't personally think it would look good in blue. I like the platinum! With experience, more gold and silver colors look better at prom. You never know what your date or friends will wear!


I asked a girl on my squad if she would help me get my back handspring because she wants to get hers too. She said yes and that she had a trampoline that we could use. Do we still need to spot each other on the trampoline? If so how?

btw-that strech you gave me was for my toetouch and its improved soo much and it worked out perfectly because try-outs are just around the corner!

Hey again! Thats great! Im glad everything worked out! For maybe the first few times on the trampoline get yourself comfy with a spot. All your friend has to do is put one hand on your back. you do the steps and she pushes behind your knees over your head. Make sure when you are upside down, that she is supporting your weight with the hand on your back. Make sure you don't swing your head. I have done it and it hurts when you fall, even on trampoline! You really helped me alot with the stretch that you gave me so i was hoping you could help me with this:
I want to get my back handspring for cheerleading.There are no cheerleading/gymnastic gyms remotely near my rual little town. I can do a back bend and can support my weight in a handstand but i dont have a trampoline or anything like that. I have family members that are willing to help though but im afraid of hurting myself or someone else. Do you have any tips/tecniques i could use to get my back handspring (i am desperste and will try ANYTHING)?

Hey Erin! Glad to c that stretched helped! As for the handspring, I learned with a spot. I am going to a cheer/tumble sleep away camp this year for 2 weeks hoping for better tumbling. You may want to try that. Its called camp woodward. If that isn't an option then I can find a gym for you near your area. Every place has a gym! If you can do a backbend then a handspring is easy! All you have to do is the steps.

1. Sit back
2. when you feel you are going to fall jump up ^
3. do like a backbend and arch your back. Make sure you keep your arms behind your ears. Don't throw your head back! its a horrible habit I still have.
4. lock your arms tightly. If they bend it is very dangerous.
5.kick your legs over together and pull them under your body
6. stand up!

so far so good! Ask me if you need help with how to spot! I also want you to tell me how the stretch did! I have told so many people that I don't remember y u needed it! i love cheer success stories! keep working hard and never give up! No matter how frusterating it can be!


I need to get my toetouch higher, but idk how. Most people just tell me to stretch. But, i have my left and right splits and I stretch everyday. My toe touch is about 5 inches from my arms went i hit my T. Do you know any exercises I could do or have any tips on how to get my toe touch higher (btw- my form is really good though I don't need help with that)? (link)

Do it everyday at least twice for 15 minutes at least. Go to a wall and do a stratal but make your butt hit the wall and your legs on it vertical. Slowly let your legs down and hold them there. Gravity will do the rest. If you can, have a family member push down on your heels evenly but slowly. If not hold the stretch longer. Also, try going on a trampoline! They work! Hope I helped!

OK stretch everyday for 2 hours straight. Do it three times if needed. Go as far down into a split as possible and put both of your arms up. It will hurt a lot at first but once you get more flexible it will be easier. Push yourself through it. Gravity will push you down. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET A FAMILY MEMBER TO PUSH YOIU DOWN! THIS COULD SERIOUSLY HURT YOUR HIP JOINTS AND YOU COULD PULL A MUSCLE! read my advice column for the other stretch that will help! I am so sorry for not writing it it just takes so much time and I have written it like 5 times. Do both of these stretches everyday how ever many times you need!

Hay! well i have a reallllly short torso,so jeans with a medium rise go up to my belly button and always look awkward on me!where can i find super low rise jeans,because those are the only kind that seem to fit my body normally? i've tried hollister,but they're too tight around the waist.pacsun doesn't do me too good either,where i used to get my jeans until they changed the style. thanks (link)
Try the gap! I know it sounds lame but I get all of my jeans from there and they look pretty good on me. They have all different kinds of styles and rises so hope you find what you are looking for and I hope I helped!


Hey i'm 15 and i have long frizzy thick wavy hair and i hate it. its impossible to get it to work for me and i live in miami, so i get like maybe 2 or 3 days a year when its dry and cold enough to make my hair work with me. I've tried thousands of products and ironing kills my hair if i do it too much. i'm fed up and i just want to chop it off. I've got a body that i know isn't thin enough for really short hair sorta like a scarlett johansson type of thing from when she was in 'He's just not that into you'. Not fat obviously just not the body that agrees with short hair. is there any hairstyles you'd recommend for me? Heres a pic of me below. I'm obviously the girl. Also if you got a color dye for my hair to recommend that'd be cool too.

I have the same hair and it sucks I know but I have just the product to help you with it! Use MOROCCANOIL when you get out of the shower and brush it through. Only a little bit. The other two products I have are RENE FURTERER PARIS, GEL DEFRISANT and EMULSION CONTROLE. They work!!!

Were you the one I gave the stretch too??? If so do that stretch 3 times a day and also make sure you jump with your chest up. Even if your legs aren't high it is still clean and looks good. Also when you are in a toe touch, make sure your arms are in a T not in a high V or a crazy position. Hope I helped and hope you do well!!! Ask me for any more advice im here!


im on jv cheer and want to make varsity. i have my standing back handspring, roundoff back handspring, and roundoff 2 back handsprings. one morning at 6am practice i was way tired and threw my pass and went super crooked and fell, and separated my shoulder. that was about a month ago, so i havent tumbled since, and its finally healing where i can tumble soon.

i want to have my roundoff back handspring back tuck, and be working my roundoff tuck and possibly standing tuck by tryouts..which is the last week of march. so i've got a little over 2 months. im going to tumble once or twice a week until then.

however, i feel im gonna have to start all over with standing and roundoff bhs's because it has been so long, and i am still a bit scared :(
so knowing that, how possible is it to get any tumbling pass with a tuck in it by tryouts??? its not required, but it definitely helps.. even a roundoff bhs tuck would be fine with me!

I know how you feel because when I was stunting with my team I broke my nose. I was out for 4 months but once you have your handspring its hard to lose it. If the first one back you get a spot thats fine but even though your scared, you have to think positive and push yourself. To get a tuck in two months you need to tumble at least 4 times a week at minimum. Also, a girl on my team got her roundoff tuck before her roundoff handspring tuck and is not able to do handsprings anymore. It is crucial to have a handspring tuck before just tuck. Make sure you set high and pull your knees past your head. If you go forward you will not rotate and if you don't have a spot that could be very very dangerous.

okay I have not cheered since I was like 5, but last year my sister was on a cheer squad and I went to all of her football games. So, I knew just about every cheer by the 2nd game. Im a fast learner. I want to get on a competition and fieldside squad and I want to know what things I need to be able to do. I cant do very much just regular cartwheel, handstand, almost got my heel strecth, and Im pretty flexible. What else do I need to know? and any tips on how to acheive them?

I have been a cheerleader since I was in 3rd grade and I am now on a competitive squad. ( All-Star) When I tried out I had to show them some tumbling which was ( if you had it) a back handspring (running and standing. You need to be able to do jumps:

Toe touch
pike
hurkey
hurdler

Keep on stretching. The more flexible you are the better your stunts will look. Take flying classes at an all-star gym near you. Go to gymnastics to improve on tumbling maybe even a camp. I am going to Camp Woodward with part of my team to get more tumbling skills. You need to know most of the motions. Work and practice hard. Stretch your heel stretch, scorpion, bow and arrow and arabesque every night and to help with splits, if you have a clear wall in your home, lay your back on the floor and put your legs in a straddle position on the wall. Your butt should be against the wall. Stay like this for 15 minutes and if you have a family member to help you, ask them to gradually push your legs down. This will be awkward at first but you need to get used to the flexibility and the stretch. I have amazing flexibility and when I started I had none. I also have no flexible people in my family. This stretch will work.

Chips and Salsa is OK but something like a granola bar would be very good and filling but not too many calories. Or bring along some dried fruits and eat those.
