As a gymnast/cheerleader myself, I have had these problems. make sure when you go for your handspring, you go up. to me it sounds like you're going back which is putting pressure on your wrists. If you stretch up, your hands will not touch the ground as much or hard. Also, get an ace band or a wrist support brace. My favorite brand is FUTURO INFINITY. They sell as any wall greens or CVS. Don't put ice on it! that is probably the worst. Put heat on it like a heat pad. Ice can make your muscles tense up and they will hurt more.

Keep icing afterward all the time, and maybe try warming your wrist with a heating pad before hand to help the blood flow and stretching. [ Myrrha's advice column | Ask Myrrha A Question ]
