Alright so i've been working out in my school gym for a couple days now for like 45 minutes do you think if i'm eating healthier and and working out in the gym for an hour everyday after school or maybe only like 3 days a week if i could lose like say 5 pounds or more within like two weeks i mean is it a realistic like diet or whatever (link)
Its very unlikely, but i'm not saying its not possible. Usually, the first couple pounds are easiest to lose because alot of it is water weight. So cut out sodium as well, and drink A LOT of water (no kidding, it actually makes you lose water).

I'd keep working out the way you are, and stick to a healthy diet.

I agree with the other posts, you will lose fat, but you may gain muscle which will make it look like you barely lost any weight. The only difference is, when you look in the mirror, you will look 5 pounds lighter even if the scale doesn't show it


i'm kinda fair skinned. i don't burn too bad. but i always burn bad in the beginning of the summer so i'll be really red. i hate it and i was wondering if there is any product i can use to tan instead of sunburn, or turn my sunburn into a tan? (link)
o gosh i know what you mean. I have the same problem.

This summer, i'm actually going tanning in a tanning bed before its warm enough to go outside every day. That way i can control my tan so that i get one without burning. That way, i'll be darker for summer activities so that i dont' burn as easily. I don't know if this is an option for you or not, but i figured i would put it out there

i went tanning today,in my moms friend tanning bed,and she was like oh yeah you should come back tomorrow and even monday, so you'll start getting tanner. and like, im like mommm you have to call her tmrw. but she was like no, inless she calls me i dont wanna be rude. but like, she told me, so i dk? what would my mom say if she calls up? I would just say to your mom that she did invite you back, so thats an open invitation to go. Your mom's friend probably expects you to call back for another tan, so she's probably not going to call you, and calling you about all your tans might even be inconvenient for you. Just explain this to your mom and see what she says.

Also, i would be careful with going every single day. If you got red the night before after going i would probably skip a day just to be on the safe side, so the burn you get doesn't make you skip like 3 :D.

i really really really wanna go to a tanning bed, my moms friend has one, and she always says i can use it. but my mom will never let me. like i know i can talk her into it. but she always says that im not pale, but i feel pale. i just wanna be a little darker. i just want to use it a few times. thats it. i DO NOT want to use that stuff that you put on, like tanning lotion, that makes you streaky, and yea i just dont want that... so how can i convince her to let me go? my mom didn't want me to go tanning either, and she doesn't want me to start back up again. I first started around christmas for a dance at my school called the SnowBall....I had really bad tan lines from my bathing suit, and needed rid of them for my dress so thats the only reason she let me go. maybe that will help if your going to any end-of the year dances.

I convinced her to let me go before summer because I convinced her it would be better for my skin in the end. I'm not raelly that pale, but i'm outside alot in the summer, and i burn really easily. i told her that is i was able to tan before summer in a way that i woudlnt' get badly burnt, i would be darker for summer, and not burn as easily.

I really want to get a summer job but all the places i look want someone who is 16+ and i am 15. I did not actually go to the actual places but looked them up online. Is it possible to persuade a business to hire a 15 year old or should i just wait until next year. I would love to know if there are places that would be more inclined to hire someone my age.

It really just depends on the business. Most businesses do wait until people are 16+, but some are willing to make exceptions. It varies from place to place, but i know there are a few places near me where you can get a job at 15. I would suggest just going in and asking a bunch of places, but looking them up online is good too..

Also...i'm pretty sure the grocery grain Publix hires at 15. I'm not sure if you have one near you or not.

I agree with the other 2 people. You definitely need to eat throughout the day. Surprisingly, breakfast is important too. Eating even somethign small in the morning will kick-start your metabolism, and make it burn more calories than if you didn't eat. I'm pretty sure alot of diets recommend you eat like 5-6 small meals a day. This keeps yoru metabolism going. I'm not saying you have to eat this many, but that one meal isn't good for you at all.


i got surgery on my knee about 2 weeks ago. i went from being active 6-7 days a week to sitting on my butt in the same position all day. (im not allowed to put weight on it) im gonna be like this for 2 months and i am very worried about gaining weight. yesterday in the morning around 9 am, i ate 2 large helpings of ice cream and i made myself not eat again until 11 that night, and i ate potatoes with vegetables. of course, i drank water in between as to not get hydrated. today i have only eaten a tangerine and a medium portion of ice cream, and that was about 6 hours ago (it's 4.30 now)

so far my stomach hasn't felt hungry, but i feel myself losing concentration on what i'm doing (which is bad, because i have a ton of make up work to do lol). also my head feels kind of heavy..it's weird. so do you think this is healthy? if not how can i eat so that i dont gain weight these next 2 months?

i feel uncomfortable in my body sometimes(i know thats not a good thing but i don't know. its just how i feel). especially when i hang out with my friends who are skinnier then me. which is all of them... i have huge thighs. big boobs. my belly has a pouch on it. and i have love handles that can be seen through everything i wear.

i've been working out lately. i run on the treadmill. ride a stationary bike. go on an elliptical. and lift weights(i don't lift weights that much though) probably 2-3 times a week for 45 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes. the only problem is i don't eat as healthy as i should so that is probably why i am not loosing as much weight as i would like.

i want to get a perfect body by summer so i can feel comfortable wearing a bikini in front of people.

so heres my question. what other work out techniques should i start doing? and what eating habits should i start?

also another question. people say that when you work out your boobs get smaller. if thats true what exercises should i be doing so i can get smaller boobs? (link)
If your serious about losing weight, you will definitely need to cut out junkfood (not all of it just alot) and replace it with healthier choices like vegetables and fruits. They fill you up faster, keep you full longer, and have alot less calories.

Also, drink alot of water, seriousally! Try drinking a glass before you eat every meal, and before snacks. Alot of times, the water will help filly ou up some so you will eat less. Plus, sometimes when you think your hungry and snack, your actually thirsty.

keep exercising like you do, just be sure not to overdo it at all. Trust me, overexercising one day can lead to 3 really sore painful ones where its almost impossible to keep exercising.

14[15 in july]/female. i was wondering if their was anyway that i could like tighten my butt up a little bit. and go down from like a 3 to a one again because i went from a 0-3 in just 1 school year, 9-10 months?. i run track and we do alot of ab work outs but i dont think that will help me out that much, any suggestions?

Unfortuntely, the only thing i can suggets is cutting way back on the junk food and replacing it with healthier choices. Also, do cardio exercises such as running to take off those couple extra pounds if you want. Once you get it off though, dont' go back to your old way. I am currently between and one and a 3 too, and was barely in a 0 last year. Around christmas i got super sick and dropped back down to the 0, but gained it all back, so it is possible to get back down, but really easy to gain it back.

i have a question about shaving your legs. my friend said that you shouldnt shave your legs till the hair turns black and i have blond hair on my legs but i am embrassed in gym class and summer is coming up so i was wondering if i should start shaving my legs now. also i shave my armpits and im 13. you could definitely start shaving if you really want too. Most people have blonde leg hair at first, and like someone else put, it won't get really black until you start shaving it. Theres nothign wrong with starting at 13 (i think i was 12 or 13 when i did), and it definitely makes yoru legs look better. So i see no reason why you shouldn't start shaving now.

Well personally i think the amount you work out is definitely a decent amount considering how little most americans do. So i wouldn't' believe crap that days its hardly anything (unless yoru like a body builder). It shouldn't affect your period unless you start severely dieting and lose tons of weight along with it. Then it might cause you to miss periods while yoru body conserves energy and all that stuff.

If yoru just working out and everything, it shouldn't affect you. Once again, thats definitely a decent amount


I've been eating really well for the past couple of weeks, and even though I've been exercising a lot I haven't lost any weight! I'm not overweight, so it doesn't bother me that much, and I feel healthy. The problem is, I'm always hungry! I'm not eating as much as I used to, but I'm still eating enough, I'm really not cutting calories by very much at all. If I'm this hungry shouldn't I be losing weight? and also, what could this be, I'm not growing, i'm not pregnant.

It could be that your just not eating the right types of food. Even if they dont' seem like alot, cut out junk food like chips cookies and ice cream. instead eat vegetables and fruit. They fill you up alot faster, keep you full longer, and have alot less calories.

Also, try drinking a glass of water before every meal. It tends to fill you up faster so you don't eat as much. Also, if you still hungry after just recently eating a big meal, ad don't want to snack, drink water again. It will fight hunger pains (plus, sometimes your not really hungry just thirsty)

I love the style of skinny jeans and skater shoes...but when i wear mine it makes my feet look big...i dont have any vans sneakers or converse or anything...only DC skater shoes, and i cant go shopping for new shoes anytime soon, how can i make the look work so that my feet dont look to big...and am i maybe just being paranoid about my big feet? im a size 6-7.

If you can't get new shoes for a while, maybe try getting new jeans. A bootcut or straight leg jean will probably make the shoe look smaller. But if not, you probably are just being paranoid. You have super tiny feet, and theres probably nothhing that can make them look that big, we always just judge ourselves harsher than anyone else would. Of course if you stared at the shoes and jeans in the mirror for long enough, you would find something wrong, but i can bet nobody else will even notice. Just image all the poor people with like 10 feet out there :D Good luck

Well since unlike the other person i did notice your a boy, I would suggest skinny jeans like you said and maybe a small punk t. The t-shits look great, and most guys don't wear then. Try hop topic or else there are punk stores out there with tons of nice clothes. Maybe get some gel for your hair and spike it or something, or just play around with styles you like.

I'm 15/f, going into 10th grade in high school, and a full Pre-IB student [I'm going to be a full IB student]

My friends that are rising Juniors have taken their PSAT in their sophomore year, but in the Princeton Review book for PSAT said that you are suppose to take it in your Junior year? & to win the National Merit, you have to take it in junior year. Do you take the PSAT in your sophomore year automatically or do you choose whether you want to take it in 10th or 11th grade? Can you take the PSAT twice [Once in 10th grade and once in 11th] Or do you take it just in Junior year & not take it in sophomore year? AHH! How does the PSAT/National Merit thing work?

I agree that although everyone takes their psat's in 11th grade, you can take it in 10th (or even 9th my one friend did) but you may have to talk to your guidance counselor about taking it. You can take it in both 10th and 11th grade if you want its not a problem

okay well i was always skinny, then in 8th grade i was around 125 (5 foot 3), and i was biger. it was noticable. i ate anything i wanted, all the time. always ate, no joke. so then in the begining of the year i started running and eating healthier. ive learned a lot about food since then. i used to cave in alot and eat crap foods, but ive got a steady meal plan now. i don't eat fast foods anymore and sweets only on special occasions. from 124 in march to 111 in june (current physical) i still feel fat at times. im still loosing weight, my goal is either 105 or 100. some days at cheerleading practice i'll look at myself and feel soo fat because im not a flyer (i was and am sometimes), and when i do fly im the biggest. and i'll grab my calfs and thys and think im so fat. then other days i'll be like, "well i am skinny iguess". its like im bi-polar or something. ive decieded to stick to loosing weight but im concerned..

1. i havent goten my period since march (im not annerxic .. i eat!)
2. i dont think i look 111. i feel if i tell someone my weight they wouwldn't guess.. like i look heavier than i am.


what can i do to not feel this way? how can i look thinner other than being thinner. ANY ADVICE IS GREAT (link)
I'm f/15 5 foot 3 too, and like you am athletic but eat TONS. I also weigh about the same as you (108) but i do consider myself skinny. I just think that you really need to relook at your calfs and thys because even if you can grab a chunk of skin on them, if doesn't mean that you are overweight at all because no matter what you weight you can still do that.

I agree that because you work out you have alot of muscle which adds alot to your weight. 111 at 5 foot 3 seems like the perfect weight with as much muscle as you have. If you do want to loose more though i wouldn't let yourself drop much below 102 - 105 pounds at the MOST. Also, remember alot of the flaws that you see in yourself such as thinking you don't look like you weigh 111 pounds aren't noticable to other people.

As for not having your period since march, since you are only 14, you probably haven't been having it for more than a couple years, and in the first couple years it is common to miss a couple without anything being wrong
