i'm collinhello to all of you who need advice (or perhaps would just like to say hi).
(that's where you say "hi collin!" but you don't have to because it might scare the people around you)
i'm a musician. i play bass, violin, mandolin, keyboards, guitars, drums, harmonica, xylophone, and just about everything else. i also sing lead for my band, the dirty fries, in st. louis, missouri.
my advice may be blunt sometimes, but you all will have to deal with it. i speak the truth, and the truth isn't always pretty.
i'll answer anything, too. as long as it's not something really idiotic like "OMG what color shirt should i wear tonight?!" because i don't answer that kind of crap. i'm a strong believer in there being no stupid questions, but honestly, those are not the sort of questions that should be posted on this website. plain and simple.

Well i wanted to take guitar lessons, and i was wondering what type of guitar would be the easiest to learn?
Or which kind wouldn't be so hard on my fingers, because ive heard that they can make your fingers sore.
well, if you want "easy," and by "guitar" you mean "rawk" then you start on an electric. they have thinner strings. and they're closer together.
if you want "easy," and you want to actually learn to play a lot of different kinds of music other than just pop-rock, then i recommend starting on an acoustic, preferably new (used is cool, but tougher to learn on). you can get nylon strings or bronze/nickel wound, with nylon being easier to play.
since you would be a beginner, i would get a cheaper brand. ibanez makes decent electrics and acoustics, but i'm partial to squier. fender owns them, and they're basically just fenders for beginners, although they have pretty high-end ones too.
if you don't want your fingers to hurt you shouldn't learn to play the guitar. i've played mandolin (ahem, doubled strings, like a 12 string guitar) for 6 years and it still hurts sometimes. i've played bass for four years and my fingers still hurt sometimes, and i've played violin for 8 years and it still hurts sometimes. it's gonna hurt until you develop major calluses. sorry, but that's the way it is. honestly, i just started teaching myself guitar, but it still hurts after a while.

How long should you wait after hooking up with a guy and not recieving a phone call before deciding if he's used you or not? Sorry if that was a little confusing to understand, but it's been a week now and im not sure if i should just forget about him and move on, i really just can't stop thinking about him and i know after having sex the guy should at least call if he cares about the girl at all right? i mean if he dosent.. does that mean he has no feelings for her whatsoever?
well, if you had sex with him, and it's been a week since that happened, he might have used you.
especially if it's been a whole week.
hate to break it to you, but it really sounds like he used you. it doesn't mean he has no feelings for you, but it definitely means he thought he could get away with it.

well, if you have a mac, i would suggest going to the apple store.
if you're on windows, you should go to office depot.
it's an expensive program, though. if you don't want to pay anything for it, i'd suggest getting a more generic one for free on the internet, like maybe graphic converter.
two reasons not to get it on limewire/bearshare/kazaa:
one: it's a really big program, and it will take you literally forever to download.
two: that's stealing, which, last time i checked, is illegal.

I don't want to be the type of person who gets bored. Only boring people get bored. What's a way to always be entertaining? I feel so outcasted and wasted when I see other people living it up & I'm sitting here wondering how it's done.
you just need to stop thinking about being boring and go and have a good time. do things with people who like to do the same things you like to do. i guess what i'm trying to say is this:
make your life exciting. go meet people. don't be afraid to embarrass yourself. have fun with life.
if you don't want to be exciting, you won't be.

I am a very gentle person, but not when I'm with my family...they tend to get the worst of me. Sometimes they'll do things that are obnoxious and rude. I have tried to hold my tongue, but it is so hard. Why am I trying to correct their behavior...How can I stop? I love them too much to keep putting them down!

it's funny, because all my friends think i'm a really good guy (for the most part) and think i'm pretty like-able. however, my parents and siblings don't understand how that works, because in their eyes i'm an asshole.
lately i've just made sure to avoid saying mean things to them, particularly my little sister. i just think that i don't have much time left in the house, and i want to make the best of the time i spend with them. if that means that i have to deal with things that i don't really want to deal with, then i just ignore that feeling.
you just need to be able to love them. loving is hard sometimes, but it's always worth it in the end.

I'm really shy... well more like afraid of people.
If I'm with people I want to like me, I freeze up and can't think of anything to say. If I do say something it's either really stupid or sarcastic/mean. This hinders me making friends because I freeze up and get really awkward, and I'm not pretty so it's not like people come to me. Do you have any advice as to how I can overcome this?
let me tell you, i had the same problem with people. i always tended to completely embarrass myself (emphasis on the ass).
the way i overcame it was just watching what i said and not trying to hard. be confident that what you're going to say is not stupid or mean, and be confident in yourself. that way, you'll feel good about yourself, and hopefully the people you talk to will feel good about knowing you too, if that makes sense.

if you broke up with him:
talk to him every day. show him that you're interested in dating again. ask him to hang out and tell him you think you made a mistake about breaking up with him. just tell him what's going through your head.
if he broke up with you:
i really don't know what to tell you. show him that he made a mistake. be as nice as you can to him, and ask him if he wants to try it again.

i'm pretty sure you can watch them all on their respective networks' websites. i could be totally wrong, but that's what i've done in the past. sometimes you can even download certain episodes for free.
but anything else might be a bad idea.

My boyfriend and I have only been going out for a week or two. We're pretty good friends, though. He's straight edge. I, however, am not; I drink casually and smoke from time to time. He doesn't know this. I'm pretty sure he'd be mad at me if he ever knew I had tried it. well, if he didn't know before, you probably should have mentioned it. especially if he doesn't drink or smoke.
you should definitely tell him the truth, though.
here's my personal experience:
i'm "straight edge," as you call it. i don't drink, don't smoke, and don't like it when people do around me (then again, i am 16. . . ). anywho, i know of many people my age who get totally sloshed all the time, and i think it's stupid. a kid from my class had to go to rehab this year for alcohol. no joke.
i understand why you're worried about it, because i know that people who are "straight edge," myself included, don't really approve of drinking and such.
just tell him. if you don't, what could very well happen is that he'll find out the hard way, and then he won't be so open to talking to you about it. if you talk about it now, you've got a much better chance of keeping him around longer.

well this question honestly makes no sense to me.
however, the reason makes sense. barbie may have boobs, but that's because all grown women have them and you know they do and can see them; plus, they're not a sex organ. ken doesn't have a penis because:
one:
most little girls don't know they exist and they aren't visible (unless you live at a nudist colony or something).
two:
the penis is a sex organ.
it's the same reason barbie doesn't have a vagina.

there are two ways i could go about giving you advice for this. one is telling you "you're way too young! don't do it!" the other would be telling you to think about it and make sure you're ready. so i'm going to do both.
one:
honestly, i think you're a little young. i know of a few girls who had sex at 13/14 years old, and i know very many people don't think too highly of them.
two:
it's not anyone's decision what age is right, because it's not about age. it's about when you think you are ready and when you are ready to take on the responsibilities of having sex. are you capable of giving birth to and raising a child (or taking on the mental trials of having an abortion?)? are you ready for the lifelong struggle of contracting an std? if you can't say yes to both of those questions, you really shouldn't be having sex.
it's never going to be about "you're too young, you can't be ready!" it's going to be about being able to handle what comes with sex.

I just got my hair highlighted today and my hair is dark brown and now it all looks blonde and i hate it! is there any way i could get my normal hair color back?
well, you can't really remove highlights. the best thing to do would be to get low-lights or dye all of it back to the original color. . .
that's all i've got for you. i don't know too much about hairstyling/coloring, but with what i do know i think that's what you'll have to do.

anyway, depends on the browser. if you're on windows:
open the history
select what needs to be deleted
press ctrl+delete (or it might just be delete)
on a mac:
two ways:
turn on private browsing (it's in the safari menu)
or click bookmarks and open the history tab.
select the website to be deleted
press "delete."
