what are the pro's and Con's on "pulling the plug" (taking someone off life support)? (link)

I've been put in the position to make that decision in 2005 when my mom got sick and couldn't make the decision herself. She hadn't left no papers expressing her wishes. The pro to taking her off life support was that she was finally at peace and not sick not more. (She has deal with years and years of progressively getting worse.) Well the con was feeling guilty for not doing more when logically I know I did my best. And also that means the person is truely gone. Its a tough decision but one that sometimes has to be made and for the most part is the best option for the patient whom has no quality of life beyond the hospital bed and whatever treatments the doctors might use them as guinea pigs for. I've been having problems with my period since over 5 year maybe, after 1 miscarriage and 2 children my husband and I decide it was time for him to go get fix, which he did, I've been having my period every 3 month, In May this year at my workplace one afternoon I was feeling dizzy, By night I feel a bit better, I'm not sure if my missed period, vaginal discharge have any thing to do with feeling dizzy, I went to see my doctor after bood work done she said I have a bacteria, need rest, wich I did for a few days, Now again It's appening, I'm sitting at my desk at my workplace and I feel like I will faith, this only accur in PM now, if a wait a few more days I will become like this a days long, it's been 2 days , I have no reason of thinking I am pregant My husband has been fix , And I have not been behind his back I would Like to know what to make of all this ? Your husbands vasectomy means nothing ..... its not 100%. I seen one couple on Montel that the guy had one 9 years prior to his wife giving birth to a baby boy. Which turned out to be his son.

Alright, well, I really want to go a madonna piercing. This is really a question only for people who either have them or know at least a friend or someone whose had them done.
I want to get one, but I want to ask how much does it hurt? Like, compared to getting ears pierced, do you think it hurts more or less?

Actually my mother of all people had it. She said that once it was done she was taking care of it cuz she would never get it redone. Claimed she could hear the needle going through the cartilge in her face. She had her ears pierced all the way up the ear and said that was a walk in the park compared to her Madonna piercing.

We get along so well and we talk about EVERYTHING. When we hang out we don't have to do stuff to have fun; we cuddle, talk about everything, watch movies, sit outside and watch the stars. Well the past few days we got ALOT closer. He is the first boy i went out with for longer the 1 week after my very first love and hardest break up of 2 years. Well; the other day we became alot more physical. I mean before that all we did was BARELY make out; but the other day. It was like we made out for 2 hours and he fingered me. I was the first girl he ever did anything with like that and he was the second guy who did it to me. [[my first love was obv. my first]]. Well; we both have talked and decided we don't want to ruin our relationship with being sexual all the time. He knows about my past and i told him i didn't want to have sex until i was WAYYY older and hopefully married. He tells me all the time he wants to marry me and that he loves me more then anything in the world and i believe him. Well, he also doesnt want to have sex until he is married. We have talked about this so many times; but i am afraid that one day i'm going to get to crazy and give in. I REALLY DONT want to. I already made this mistake before. Waiting until you are married is a great decision ... (APPLAUSE) I ended up losing mine at 14 and got pregnant. Not to say you two can't out outer course. Other things besides sex itself. I mean if you choose to. But stick to your decision and wait to have sex. When you wait until you are truely ready it is so much better and has more meaning.

Here's what happened, I met this guy online, we talked for a couple days, seemed to click but then again it's online. Anyway, we went on a date, watched Borat, which was really funny, and then hung out, ate, and talked for awhile. Then we scheduled to go out on a second date which we had yesterday. Instead of going out we chilled at my place kissed for the first time and talked and made out. Anyway, between Sunday and wednesday we were really enthusiatic about it and all. We can't really talk on the phone because he's still in the closet. Oh yeah, i'm a senior in high school and he's a freshman in college so the age difference isn't bad at all. Anyway, I just don't really know how to read him I don't know whether or not he likes me... Online and texting he seems to be getting annoyed of me but in person he's really caring and really passionate and sensual. I just don't know whether or not i'm reading into him not being as responsive when I text him as something small that I should overlook. I guess i'm becoming too attached because after all we've only gone on 2 dates... I guess i'm just wondering if someone can help me analyze this situation and tell me whether or not I should just chill, try going on dates with other guys, and not get too attached to this guy. I just figured that if someone were interested they would be just as "clingy" in a sense as I am... I guess it's just something I always see on T.V. *sigh* any help? He's not out of the closet yet which will definitly be something that will take time for him to do. That may be why he isn't overly enthused about the attention. Give him some time to sort things out and don't be concerned if he isn't 'clingy'. My bf isn't either .... some ppl are just not like that. Doesn't mean they care for you any less it just means that you are two different ppl who have different ways.

I had this come up when I had my children .... and its the parents choice what the childs last name will be. Whether they are married or not the baby can carry either one of the last names or even both.

well i'm pretty sure that i have a yeast infection, my vagina feels irritated and swolen. i am not sexually active, so i know it isn't an std. if anyone has had a yeast infectoion before can you tell me what kind of medicine or treatments you had? i'm really worried i will have to use some gross cream or something. thank you so much if you can help me! They actually have a one day pill I believe its called Diflican that you take by mouth that gets rid of the yeast infection without all that cream mess.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 1/2 months. Before we started going out, we were really great friends. He was my best friend. And I have a STD, HIV actually. I got it from birth because my mother had to get a blood transplant and back in 1986 they didnt check blood for HIV and such, we've been talking about being intimate with eachother. I am 15 and I need to tell him before we have sex. I need help on the following things:
1.) How to tell him: What should I say? Should I have my sister whos like my best friend be there with us?
2.) When should I tell him?
3.) How do I handle the thoughts of being rejected and trusting him?
He is my best friend and I trust him and I talked to him and have told him that I have something I'd like to discuss with him and I made him guess on what it was and he said "is it a genetically passed STD?" and I did not say anything.
I'm scared that he will tell someone. He's very trusting but I dont know, He would be the only person I told besides one person and the only boyfriend I've told. Please help.
Comfort my thoughts on this so im not such a worried reck

It would probably be better to have him in a place like planned parenthood so that a conselor can be on hand to help him understand things. Its a big situation to deal with and if he hasn't been educated properly he may not know how to properly deal with the information you are about to give him. Alot of people are very ignorant to the ins and outs of HIV and such. I would like to know how things go once you have told him.

OKAY, here it goes...! K, i fell down the stairs at my school last week, on Monday. I dont think i really broke or sprained anything, but i hit my head really hard on the tile floor, and the stairs( i was at the top and fell to the bottom). Now, almost a week later, i feel lightheaded, and dizzy... is it from the fall? should i consult my doctor?! (link)

Definitly you should see a doctor. You could have done more damage to your head then you thought. Bleeding on the brain, fractured skull, brain bruising, etc.

Well, I had cancer when I was little. I was 3 and dignoised with Luekiema ((i know i spelled that wrong..) and the type I had was ALL. Very cureable. Well, Lately, I have been throwing up in my mouth, and bruising without hitting myself on anything. It's been happening for maybe 2 weeks? But what is confussing me is the doctor's said I had a 99.9% chance it won't come back. But I'm always at risk to get another kind. WHat I am expeiencing now sounds like the cancer I had. But well, I'm not sure if it's even cancer at all. Can you guys help me, is it cancer? Do I need to see a doctor? (link)

You need to see the doctor. It may be nothing but it also may be the cancer reoccuring. And the longer its put off about seeing the doctor the worse it may possibly be. Its better to be safe then sorry.

about 3 months ago, i was diagnosed with leaukemia=[. the doctor told me that i am gonna die after my 8th month. is he allowed to tell me this? he just flat out said... " in about 8 months your gonna die ", he made me my mom my dad and my brother cry. so anyways.... can he tell me this... and can i like sue him for it?

I believe he doesn't really have a right to approach it like that. The doctor can let both you and your parents know that expectancy and treatments and options are. But to be blunt like that is rather inappropiate. I would have filed a complaint with the hospital about his insensitive bedside manner. Expecially since you are indeed only 13 years old. Shame on him.

well im 16 years old...and for over a year i have been having problems with my breats...very bad sharp pains..not like those that happen when they grow and everything..but really painfully sharp pains...and i have a couple big lumps in my breasts...and they keep gettin bigger and bigger not real fast but slowly..im scared to talk to my mom about it..and im scared to make an appointment to find out..wat do i do!! Sweety I know you are scared but you need to tell your mother what you have found and get an appointment made ASAP. Hopefully its something that is beign. But breast cancer is a very serious thing that if caught early has better rate of getting better. Its better to be safe then sorry. Because breast cancer doesn't discrimate ... it affects just as many young ladies as it does the older ladies.

When i was in junior high (im a hs senior now) i would get random chest pains on my left side of my chest. I didnt think that it was possible (is it?) to have 'heart attacks' or anything similar when you were around 14 years old so i never really had it checked. I guess im just wondering if it's something like a heart attack or something different? Because i get it randomly, sometimes while im walking around or walking up the stairs or just suddenly sometimes. (link)

With the number of children showing up with underlying heart problems that are diagnosed too late I would be concerned. Talk to your parent(s) and have them make a doctor appointment for you. Its better to be safe then sorry.

I am 16 years old and I had recently had to be transported from an ambulance to Santa Clara ICU because I had been diagnosed with toxic shock syndrome, my organs almost failed and I almost died. I was wondering if it would be okay for me to use tampons again but be more careful this time? ha, Cause I HATE pads. (link)

It would be fine to try them out again. Now that you are aware of what TSS is and what the symptoms are you would know what to watch out for. But try using a lower absorbency and changing it more often then every 8 hours. Bump that to maybe 4 hrs if possible. And I agree with you I hate pads as well.

I think I might be going through menopause, and im only 19!! I have alot of the symptoms, irregular periods, i skip them so very often, hot flases(my face gets red and goes in and out of hot to cold), sweat alot, i feel like i have alot of male hormone i get hair where im not supposed to and it grows back so fast when i shave it, like i have some hair in between my breasts, above my lip, and under my chin, i get shaky alot, i am thinking maybe i might be already going through menopause, could anyone shed some light on this, how does a 19 year old already go through this? Sounds like your hormones may be going off course a bit. Have your doctor give you a blood test to check the levels of hormones in it. They may start you on a short term course of birthcontrol to straighten things out or maybe a boost of estrogen. Good luck.

Okay you said you haven't been sexually active? Does that include oral sex? Because if you have had oral sex with someone and they have had a cold sore you would get herpes from that contact. My suggestion is to go to the doctor's and have them have a look then diagnose.

Invest in some baby orajel. I found it to be a god send when my kids were teething. Not all babies are real fans of teething rings. Good luck.
