Midnightmoet answered Thursday December 7 2006, 4:41 pm: I've been put in the position to make that decision in 2005 when my mom got sick and couldn't make the decision herself. She hadn't left no papers expressing her wishes. The pro to taking her off life support was that she was finally at peace and not sick not more. (She has deal with years and years of progressively getting worse.) Well the con was feeling guilty for not doing more when logically I know I did my best. And also that means the person is truely gone. Its a tough decision but one that sometimes has to be made and for the most part is the best option for the patient whom has no quality of life beyond the hospital bed and whatever treatments the doctors might use them as guinea pigs for. The good part is:
You don't have to see them suffer any longer
