I like fairies (thus why I am wearing fairy wings in the picture). Good grammar rocks, too. It doesn't have to be perfect but I get frustrated when people completely disregard it. I like every color except pink. I hate the wind. Sometimes, I carry around a little teddy bear I found at an antique store. His name is Robert. I dress very eccentrically. It's not unusual for me to wear a prairie dress one day and a Mod dress (think Austin powers) the next. I don't dye my hair, or wear much make-up. I think it's sad that no one puts any emphasis on natural beauty anymore. I think it's a good thing to be open and educated about sex and other issues that are considered taboo. I have a hard time seeing where homophobics are coming from.
Basically, I'm just some weird teenager in Arizona. If I haven't scared you off already, feel free to drop me a line. -Danielle

I have a friend named Tara. Shes in 12th grade, graduating this year, and going to college for Theater.. I've been quite worried about her lately, because i know that she cant have her whole life rely on Theater. She wasted her past 6 years working to be an actress. And shes not all that bad, but someone from a small town and such like ours, prolly wont get very far. I've tryed talking to her about other options. I dont want her whole life to be thrown out the window because of some, un-realistic dream.. Do you think that I should try harder to convince her that theres more to life than thearter.. and thats just there as something to do on the side? Or should I let her make her own mistakes? (link)

Wow, this is extremely insulting.
Quit acting like you know what you're talking about. She wants to do theatre, let her do theatre! There will always be job openings for her to be a theatre teacher if worst comes to worst. I've been doing theatre throughout high school and plan to have one of my majors in it and it's not "throwing your life out the window" to do it. If you get a college education, you can get a job, period. They don't care if you majored in theatre. There are always ways to make money and she's not ruining her life by doing it and condemning herself to a life of poverty. You should leave her alone, but it wont be becuase you are "letting her make her own mistakes." You should do it so that you can worry about your own freakin' life and maybe judge yourself before you go talking shit to other people. I don't even believe in God, but I believe very strongly in the moral behind "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." I think you're more likely to throw your life away on being cynical and unsupportive than someone who has a talent and wants to pursue it.
Edit:
P.S. Telling me to "believe in god" and calling me a "stupid whore" really makes me sad and makes me cry emo tears. I really care, seriously, I do.
Get a life, you close- minded, incorrigible FOOL. Don't know what incorrigible means? Who's the stupid one now? Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

so i tried out for my first musical, actually my first anything, and i found out from some people that i was not a good singer at all. i think it was cause i was really nervous but i mostly think its just cause i dont sing good.well i always wnated to get a careerer in acting and theater like that. i just want advice/ your opinions about if i could still pursue my dream to be famous in theater even if i do sing horribly. because that same friend told me that i was amazing at acting. thanks! It is important to get lessons in both acting and singing if you are serious about a career in the field. If you think you suck, get a voice teacher, and if you're already good at acting, stick to trying out for the plays instead of the musicals. Also, you sound like you might be into broadway. Dance experience is good to acquire as well.
Edit: and just some realistic advice, you said you don't have any experience with acting, and yet you want a career in acting?... It seems to me that you like it for the superficial reasons...how do you even know you want to do that for a living if you haven't even actually taken any initiative to pursue it? You think people are just going to drop in one day and say, hey, you have no experience but you should be in our play!!! ... no. Don't take interest in it just because you want to be famous. I could be reading this the completely wrong way but I've been working my ass off in theatre during high school and so it seems weird that someone who has no acting experience would know enough about it to dedicate their life/career/whatever to it.
Your feedback: ok you just ruined my whole life dream i think i'll be a accountant like everyone else in my family! thanks, just think, you ruined someones life today! by the way, thanks for being a smartass about it too! ;]
My response: Pretty sure it was your choice to let whatever I said get to you and that I was just telling you the facts rather than what you wanted to hear. Look up the definition of smart ass- I wasn't being one. I wasn't being cruel, just honest. This is me being a cruel, smart ass: the truth?! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
Bottom line: Maybe you should question your motives again if you were so easily swayed.
haha. Cry me a freakin' river.

ok well i have FINALLY narrowed it down to 3 songs to sing for my musical audition. my options are "At Last" (by Etta James) "Killing Me Softly With his song", or "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes," from Cinderella. Which do you think would be the best song choice? please let me know! I really want to do good on this and get a good part! thank you very much and i rate! (link)
|
I don't recommend At Last because VERY few people can pull it off and it's just kind of risky for an audition. I think the Cinderella song is a good choice.

does any one know a good monologue from a play (not just a published book of monologues) that is appropiate for a girl somewhere between 15-18? i want it 1930s or later - nothing from shakespeare. i would probably like a way to obtain a copy of the play as well, but i don't want to buy play scripts without first knowing if there are any good monologues for me in it! any suggestions would be great, thanks! Is "Another Suitcase In Another Hall" from EVITA a good audition song for a 13-year-old girl? (link)
|
It might be too mature for your voice, because I think (though I'm not sure about this) that Evita is an alto and most 13 year old girls are not altos. If you think you could pull it off, go ahead!

my school is having a fall festival, and every class either has to sing a song, or do a play. we have 5 girls in my class so a song is out of the question, because the boys are just too good to sing with us. anyway, if anyone knows a good play we can do, can you please tell me were i can find a script or something for it? thanks alot! (link)
|
Get a book of one acts. One acts are short but they still have good plotlines... so you won't put the audience at the festival to sleep. You could even do a collection of one acts. 'Words, Words, Words' is a good one, as well as 'Impromptu' or 'here we are'. They are a bit cheesy, but that just makes it funnier for the audience.
