Ok, for Halloween, i want to go as a Bimbo or a hooker or something like that. So i want to dye my hair blond for it.

My hair is Black... so what would i have to do to get it blond... and how many times??

also... do you think my hair might fall out?
like if i bleach it?

It'll only be for 1 night, but i don't want to get a wig.

I do NOT suggest you bleach your hair for one night. If you have black hair naturally and bleach it, your hair will break off badly & probably will never be healthy again. I took Cosmetology, so trust me I know. I have naturally dark hair and decided I wanted blonde hair, so I bleached it. I got it professionally done, and they had to bleach it 2 times one day and a few more times later that month just to get it blonde instead of orange. It's not worth it. I would just get a wig or maybe highlight your hair blonde. My hair broke off terribly and didn't grow for a year. It's terrible!

It all depends on your hair. Those really don't get as hot as needed for thick, non-straight hair. If you have thick hair with curls, I don't recommend it. If you have thin, non-curly hair, then yes it's alright. It's an alright straightener, but it just doesn't get hot enough for me.

I just came back from a trip to Quebec. A lot of people there were wearing sling backpacks, and there was one particular style I saw often... I never got the chance to figure out the brand name. They're triangularish, with two diagonal zippers, a waterbottle mesh pocket on the outside, and a cell phone holder in front on the strap. Any ideas? Specific brands would be helpful.

If you're talking about the ones that have one strap that goes diagnal over your shoulder, they sell them at Walmart, Target, K-Mart, and Sears. I had one last year and I bought it from Walmart.

Basically, I'm one of those people that rarely straighten their hair (only on special occasions) so I decided to come here for help.

Anyway, in 2 weeks I'm going to party. I was wondering should I straighten my hair on the day of the party, or do it the night before?

My hair is really annoying because it gets greasy real fast, obviously overnight isn't enough to make it completely greasy but sometimes it'll lose shine and volume.

Obviously I'm leaning towards to doing it on the day, but what do you think I should do?

If you wash & dry your hair the night before then straighten it right after. While your asleep, it will probably get a little wavy, but it will be a lot easier to straighten the next day. Only do this if you don't plan on washing it again the day of the party.

If you plan on washing it the day of the party, give yourself a reasonable amount of time to blow-dry and straighten your hair. 3 - 3 1/2 hours is reasonable.

Also, if your hair gets greasy easily, I do reccommend washing it the day of the party. Scrub it really good with shampoo & conditioner to help avoid a lot of the greasy look.

Christina Aguilera's hair looks like it's formal curls for a party or special event. It is cute though.

I'd go with Miley's curls because their easier to manage and do.

One day my sister had a bunch of friends over for a sleepover and they decided to play a prank on me. THEY CUT MY HAIR OFF! Now its this short ugly little thing, I use to have long, really pretty hair but now its so ugly! I want my hair back. How can I make my hair grow long really fast, i was growing that hair since i was about 6. I hate it, i hate it, i hate it! please some one help me get my hair long again. Im tired of going places with everyone thinking im a freak cause im practicaly bald. some one help me, and i need real help not just "oh sorry there is no way to grow your hair fast". PLEASE HELP!!

Where was your parents when this happened? Why don't they step in and be parents and make her pay for you to get your hair done? That's a little ridiculous, I hope she got some sort of punishment.

But, there really isn't any magical potion to make your hair grow over night. It does take time.

While time is going by, I do reccomend extentions. Their not that expensive. I bleached my hair blonde all summer one time and my hair was passed my boobs. The bleach broke it off so bad it was above my shoulders and I didn't cut it! So I decided to use extentions until it grew out some and I really liked them.

If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply near you, stop in and look at their extentions. They have different lengths and colors. You can also dye them, cut them, straighten them, curl them, and wash them like it was your real hair. They also have different kinds. You can get them glued in (it's hair glue), clipped in, or braided in.

When you get out of the shower, tip your head upside down and use root lifter. (There are varieties and It's in a spray bottle) Spray your head with it & blow dry your hair while your head is still upside down. Flip it back up when it's dry and apply mousse. Then take a large curling iron and just curl little pieces here and there.

up to 5 dollars.

Considering you won't find "good quality" make-up under $5, you're pretty much screwed. But, if you go to Walmart they have cheap make-up that is good quality. Most make-up is way over $5. Try Family Dollar. They have Mabeline products for $1-3. Not much selection, but that have your basics. Good luck.

can i use a light colored eyeshadow as an eyeshadow base? or primer


Eyeshadow can brighten your eyes or just make you look like a clown, literally. I'm in Cosmetology and I've learned exactly how to do eye make-up the right way.

If you want to use a light colored eyeshadow that's perfect. You would use the light colored on top and go with a slightly darker shade of the same color on the bottom.

Example: Smokey Eyes.
You would use a light brown, almost tan color on top. Then a darker brown on your eye lid, and always remember to BLEND!! Take your finger and gently rub your eyeshadow to make it blend.

It all depends on the person. I personally, think people who are tan, look better. When you're tan, it can bring out your eyes and facial features. Good luck.

I'm going to be attending cosmetology school soon to get my esthetician certificate (makeup and skincare) and become a makeup artist.

Two questions:

What do I wear to cosmetology school? Like when attending classes? Casual, semi-dressy?

As a makeup artist working in a salon, what should I wear?

Just so I can get a general idea. Outfit descriptions would be great, links even better.
If it makes a difference, I'm tall, medium weight (not super skinny but not chubby-), with pale skin, dark brown hair, and dark green eyes).

I'm in Cosmetology. We had a dress code, but I'm not sure if yours will or not. But when I go into other Salon's, they have on black pants and a casual top. Our dress code was, black pants and a white dressy shirt. Remember to always wear comfortable shoes!!! That is an absolute must! I'd recommend black pants with a short sleeve white shirt. After your first day, they will most likely give you a dress code because they want everyone to look professional. Good luck!

Okay. So I asked a question awhile ago about being topless, bc I have a tattoo on my back for my grandma and I would like it in one of my pictures. Well I am looking for a shirt that has the top of my back cut out, and maybe down to around where my pants would start. And I was hoping that the front wont be cut down to were you can see my boobs from the sides, you know? help??

I've only seen dresses like that. JCPENNY's, Macy's, Sears, anything like that have dresses that are knee length, with the back like that. If the tattoo isn't THAT big, wear a halter top or a tube top. The backs in them go to about the middle of your back.

I've already spent all of my fall and winter school clothes money, but my mom has an account at Kohl's so we're going to go there.
But I'm tired of wearing the same basic colored t-shirt, hoodie, jeans, and flats or sneakers or whatever.
Thats basically all I bought so far-- BASICS!

Can you guys give me some insight? No store names, please. I'm perrty restricted.
But how do you mix and match different colors and patterns without looking like you..DON'T MATCH?
What do you wear? Please, I feel totally BLAH!

Well, Kohl's does have really cute clothes!

To start off, I'm not sure what kind of styles you like or anything, but here are some of my fashion tips that I enjoy wearing and seeing on other people!

You know the longer shirts that come almost to your knees? Buy a few, then buy some leggings that would match them. Their really inexpensive and they go great with flats! It's stylish and doesn't cost that much, you can't beat it.

When you buy jeans, buy a variety of different styles. Dark skinny jeans are cute with a white shirt and a pair of cute flats!

Accessories are a must when wanting a new look. Buy long necklaces, all different styles and colors to match some of your outfits. When you wear jewelry with plain outfits, it makes it look more OUT THERE.

Instead of buying regular old hoodies, buy the zip up ones. You can wear with a pair of jeans & a cute shirt underneath, and it looks a lot better than a regular hoodie with jeans.

Upgrading your look, can take time and a lot of thinking. When you go into the store, look at the sales papers and see what the models in them are wearing. I did that once, and bought the complete outfit that she had on and it looked GREAT together!

Hi! I just got my homecoming dress, and it's absolutely gorgeous!! However, it is very sparkly. When trying it on for my dad at home, there was a thick layer of sparkles trailing behind me. Is there anyway to make the sparkles/glitter to stay on the dress and off of my date and friends without ruining the dress??

Try taking your dress outside & shaking it gently. Not so hard that the dress tears in two. But just gently shake it so all the excess glitter will fall off. When it looks like there is no more glitter coming off or at least not as much, then just take it inside & hang it back up. I'd recommend you do this now and the night of your dance. I love glittery dresses I'm sure it's just lovely. Good Luck!

I recently got my hair cut, pretty short.
And I want it thinned so badd!
I'm afraid it will look bad though.
Its the same length all the way around, its on my shoulders...no layers, nothing except side bangs.

Any ideas?

I want choppy layers, and choppy bangs, i just need a new style.

I'm in Cosmetology, so if someone came in and wanted what you want done to your hair, I'd have them ask for this. Ask for SHORT layers in your haircut. It will make you have a lot of layers & for short hair, it will look good. Then tell them you want your ENDS JUST YOUR ENDS razor cut, which will give you the "choppy" look. You can have your whole head razor cut, which thins your hair out a lot. However, there is a downfall to doing that. It normally just takes a couple layers of your hair completely off, but when it starts growing back, the top of your head will have little hairs sticking up that won't go down & it'll be frizzy. I wouldn't recommend thinning your hair. Just get short layers & your ends razor cut & it will give you the look you desire! (:

i shaved off half of my eyebrows (don't ask why) how long will it take for them to grow completly back?

Depending on your hair growth, normally about 3-4 weeks. They will start coming in & whatever you do don't pluck them or anything while their growing back in! That will just make it worse. While they are growing, they have eyebrow pencils similar to eyeliner that you can use to pretty much fill in all of the emptiness to your eyebrows. I hope this helped & good luck!

Flats are very fashionable with almost anything. Wearing a skirt with leggings & flats is really cute. Skinny jeans, a cute shirt, and flats is even cuter! If you have one of those shirts that are really long like dresses kind of, put some leggings on under it & rock some flats :] I think flats are cute with anything. Good luck!

Personally, I don't find it attractive for guys to shave down there. But a trim every now and then don't hurt :]

All guys opinions are different. Some guys like it all shaved, some like a little hair, and some could care less if you shaved at all.

Every girl I know shaves it all including myself just because I think it looks better. But like I said, everyones opinions are different.

When you do get a boyfriend that you have been dating a while, you start feeling comfortable around eachother. Then it really shouldn't matter if you shave down there or not. My boyfriend tells me all the time he wouldn't care if I never shaved ANYTHING on my body again! But that's just because he loves me as a person & not what I shave. But I do it because I feel better when I do.

I recently cut my hair really short, it is about chin length in front and a few inches shorter in the back. I need to keep my hair out of my face for work and I need some cute things to do with it at work. thanks

It sounds like you have a bob cut. I am in Cosmetology, and I've seen a lot of girls with bob cuts come in and they have the "poof" on top. Where you take your bangs and comb them back & make a sort of poof and clip it down with bobby pins. It's really cute!

okay im in 10th grade and im Really into fashion. i shop mostly at hollister abercrombie h&m bebe and forever 21..i mix and match things but it seems like whenever i dress up and look nice all the girls get really b*tchy and say mean things (and i don't look slutty in the things i wear either) so i just wear jeans and a regualar shirt like from a&f to school just so they'll have nothing to say about it. but when i wear that i feel like everyone else...what should i do?

Girls really can be so mean. But, you shouldn't change the way you dress because jealous girls don't like it. Be yourself & wear what YOU want to wear, not what other people want you to wear. Don't let little things like that stop you from expressing yourself. All it is, is jealousy. You're probably a really pretty girl & they say clothes make a person. So the cuter your clothes, the more prettier you must be. So let them talk about you, at least you know you look a lot better than they do! ♥
