I'm going to be attending cosmetology school soon to get my esthetician certificate (makeup and skincare) and become a makeup artist.
Two questions:
What do I wear to cosmetology school? Like when attending classes? Casual, semi-dressy?
As a makeup artist working in a salon, what should I wear?
Just so I can get a general idea. Outfit descriptions would be great, links even better.
If it makes a difference, I'm tall, medium weight (not super skinny but not chubby-), with pale skin, dark brown hair, and dark green eyes).
LiLMAMAx answered Saturday August 9 2008, 4:16 pm: I'm in Cosmetology. We had a dress code, but I'm not sure if yours will or not. But when I go into other Salon's, they have on black pants and a casual top. Our dress code was, black pants and a white dressy shirt. Remember to always wear comfortable shoes!!! That is an absolute must! I'd recommend black pants with a short sleeve white shirt. After your first day, they will most likely give you a dress code because they want everyone to look professional. Good luck!
