i'm 13(male). my brother is 10(male).
i've shared a room with him since the day he was born. when i was 7 or 8, we switched to bunk-beds. the ladder up to the top is prety much the only place of privacy i have, other than the bathroom. my family isn't the richest in the world, but we're in a pretty good financial situation compared to others (my mom is a college professer, my dad is a newswriter). my question is, am i selfish for asking for my own room. we've been searching for about a year give or take, and have been outbid in 3 situations so far. currently we're in the midst of bidding.
sometimes i do feel selfish, because my parents are slightly older, and i feel that i'm taking away too much of their retirement funds. (this isn't exactly all for me, the neighborhood we're in now is pretty bad for them, for ex: my view from my room is at my neighbors dark green pool, 10 feet away, and theirs noise pollution from the other side from a stupid bird, which drives my parents nuts.) so am i asking for too much?
No--you are not being selfish. You are 13 and it's time for some privacy. It's not easy sharing a room with your sibling(s). Have a talk with your parents, I'm sure they will agree with you. Tell them you need privacy and you've waited a long time for your own room. I'm sure they will understand your situation. Good luck with that =)

ok so on my coloumn is an asnwer that my firend wrote and its not true but every1 has been asking me about it so i want to delete it. How can i do that? I tried editing my answer but it isnt editing it on my column, does anyone no wat to do?
Go to "Edit Answers" again and delete all the text from the answer you want gone. Then click "Edit Answer" at the bottom. Go to your column, and see if it's gone. If it is still there, click "Refresh" on your browser. That should do it--but if it doesn't--contact Admin. Her advice column is Advicenator_Admin. Good luck with that =)

I know that this might sound stupid but, today my mom was just telling me stuff that I don't know about my family, and she told me my sister got pregnant at the age of 21 (shes 28 now) and got an abortion, because she got pregnant not from being raped or anything, just with her boyfriends baby n stuff. I've been brought up to believe women have equal rights, and I have believed in abortions up until now. Knowing that I could've had a nephew//niece, and I don't because my sister got an abortion is really weird. I'm only 14, and I know I'm going to get a bunch of life altering situations, as this one. But, if my sister asks me one day if I believe in abortions, should I tell the truth, and say, no. or yes? Thanks.
Tell the truth--it's the best way to go. It's your sister, I mean..is she really going to get mad at you for speaking your opinion? She made her decision to have an abortion, and you don't agree with it. That's perfectly FINE. So if she asks, tell her =)

Those talking ones are from people who have AOL. They are called SuperBuddy Icons. I don't think you can get them from AIM--unless you pay for it. They also have other sites you can go to for icons such as http://www.badassbuddy.com I think they have moving ones, but not talking. Good luck ♥

My life stinks and i hate it I have like no friends cuz i go to such a small school. And my parents are having a divorse which is not going good. If you feel comfortable--talk to your teacher about it. If she's a good person, she'll do SOMETHING for you. I'm sure she will. But if you don't want to talk to her, find someone you trust or can let everything out to..like you did here. Going through divorce is the worst..maybe not the worst--but it's still bad. My parents did the same thing. Maybe TRY talking to your mom..it might help, seriously. OR write her a note. That might be better. I always felt it's easier to write notes then to speak how you feel. I don't really have much more to say to you, but I'm here if you want to talk about anything. ♥

Me and my mom made a dealy bribe about the PSAT; I read a big book on it and take a practice test, and I could get somethin special. She had been really adamant about not getting a second hole before (I'm 13), and this is the first time shes actually said that I could (I've done a bunch of bribes before that she held out on.) But also, she said, instead that I could get a new, fancy schmancy cell phone instead of a second hole, maybe even she would split the price on a laptop! (But that would be all my $$.) What should I do? lol

It depends what you want most. I would say forget the second hole because that's not that big of a deal. Laptops are pretty expensive--but it's a good deal. She'll pay half, so I'm guessing you'll pay around $500 to $600 (depends on what you get). If you really want/need a laptop then go for it. Just think--if you get the cell phone--are you going to use it a lot? If not, skip that. It's not worth it if you're not going to use it. AND: is your mom going to pay for the cell phone..or for the service each month? That's a good question to ask. Think about which one you want the most--then you might be able to decide. hey. yeah, i'm an insomniac. as long as i can remember i haven't ever been able to fall asleep is less that like 3 hours. so i basically go to bed at 3 and wake up at 6.30 (school days). i don't take medicine for it but i need to! i want to sleep and my mom has sonata (i guess she also has insomnia) and i want to take one. she'd never notice and i dont think she'd really care. should i take one? i mean what bad will it do? also, does anyone else take sleeping pills or have insomnia? thanx
Don't take your mom's medicine without going to the doctor. You should definately ask your mom to take you to the doctor to get your OWN medicine. It's just safer that way =)

does anyone know of a good gel or something to use on hair when straightening it? i have used so many stuff in my hair but my hair is still getting all dried and burnt from the heat. PLEASE HELP!
Don't use gel when you straighten it! It has to be completely dry when you straighten it. You don't really need gel either. To reduce the hair burning: Get a different hair straightener that isn't as powerful, lower the heat on your straightener, and/or don't hold the straightener in one place for too long. Just go out there and have fun! Hang out with your friends and get your mind off those negative thoughts! Watch tv, listen to music..anything. If this really doesn't help you, you could go to a teacher, parent, etc. for extra help. Be happy :)

Hey, that's great you have a lot of good friends! You guys have LOTS of things you can do. You could go bowling, ice skating, roller skating, or movies (as you said). If you have a local sport team around you, like ice hockey or football, etc, you could go to the games! They're a lot of fun :) Just get together with your friends and talk about what you want to do..you'll come up with something :P

It's a new feature that Admin just added. It's so that the questions and answers don't have terrible spelling. This system detects words that you would probably use while instant messaging; Words such as: lyke, omg, kewl, lol, u, ur, etc. You get it? Try not to use too many words like that and ChatSpeak won't be detected.

Okay well i was walken downtown with my 2 friends today and this druggie/badass was down there and he called over this geeky guy called Josh and all of a sudden he starts beating him up! i was so scared i didnt know what to do.. he almost started to cry and before he left he said im callen aaron (the cop in our town) and my friends r like dont tell him we were here. im afraid hes gunna tell the cop and he'll ask me and somehow it'll get back to the badass and he'll beat the shit outta me .. im a gurl btw and he hits girls and stuff and he like knows how to set up bombs n shit cuz he put a bomb in our school one year.. if the cop does ask me shoudl i say i witnessed it?

If you're having trouble writing songs, just get out a piece of paper, and write down what you are thinking. Whether it is about relationships, friendships, family, school, problems, etc. Have your friend do it also. Then when you are done, try to come up some good lyrics with all your thoughts put together. Good luck writing + singing!

Well I deleted one that I asked, and now I'd like to atleast look at it, because I want to figure out the date I asked it. I have a livestrong bracelet...one of the yellow ones, but i was wondering if any of you knew where to find the pink and/or blue ones?
From what I have heard, you can get the pink bracelets at Target. I saw my friend wearing one of the blue ones..and it WAS a LiveStrong bracelet. She said she got it at the local Cranberry Festival. Well--I have no clue what that is. BUT: If you have any festivals, fairs, etc. in your town..you can try to look for them there. Good luck!
