about

I'm a strong supporter of the US Army and other branches of the Armed Forces.
I love animals, and I have two Siberian Huskies- named Hailey and Cupid; and an African Dwarf Frog called Aqua. As I said before, I especially love politics, and will never cease to voice my opinion about something. I believe is is very important for people (especially young people) to be involved in the world around them. They need to get out, get active, and have a strong, fact-based point of view on things.
I collect icons. -random-
I've been told numerous times I'm insane, and I really ought to seek professional help. I have a deep, irreversable fear of: The color pink, sharks, and being abducted by aliens only to fall out of their spaceship and be sucked into a black hole (don't ask)...
The world is my playground, and life is the practice run. ^-^

I've had this acne around my chin for a long time. Probably for half a year or probably longer.. Is there anyway I can get rid of it? What are some good products to make them get white heads?
And also, is there any acne scar fading products? if yes, what are some good ones?
I've had really bad acne..and the scars are bothering me..
There are several prescription drugs you can get from your demetologist. Acutane is what I use for my acne (it works wonders on me) and Rentin-A works pretty good. Most of the over the counter products work, but they don't wrok nearly as well as what you would get from a doctor. You know, toothpaste actually works REALLY well, if it's the baking soda kind. I reccomend, if you're on a budget or something, get a tube of baking soda toothpaste and put a tiny little dollop of toothpaste on the zit and let it sit overnight, and wash it off in the morning.
As for scar products, mederma (spelling?) is supposed to work pretty well as a scar softerner. Things like coco butter, shea butter, and products like Aquaphor healing ointment (available at most local pharmacies like CVS) aslo work.
Hope I helped!

Hi, Avari. TheOldOne here.
Sorry you felt insulted in the chatroom; to tell you the truth, it bothers me (obviously, or I wouldn't be writing this).
I don't suppose that we'll ever be able to agree about politics, and that's fine. I find it particularly ironic, since you and I have very similar tastes otherwise; I'm a gamer and SF/fantasy geek too (you can check out my own gaming site at http://www.runequest.org/rq.htm ).
Having said that...there's something in your profile that seems self-contradictory:
"But if you insult me, chances are I'll just leave the chat or not reply to your email."
and
"I'm not going to waste my breath or fingers trying to tell an unhinged liberal why I think they're wrong."
"unhinged liberal"? It seems strange that you'd complain about being insulted, and then in the next sentence make a pretty nasty insult yourself.
It seems to me that you've been accusing liberals of doing things based not on what they're actually doing, but on what you've been TOLD they'll do to you by people like Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, etc.
No one insulted you in the chatroom, after all, even after you said that we would. I'm not saying that there AREN'T liberals who will insult you; there are. But I have to say that I see that sort of behavior on all sides, and to be brutally honest there's a lot more of it coming from the right wing these days. After all, they've got almost ALL of talk radio, as well as the vast majority of TV pundit shows.
I'll stop myself here, because I really don't want to get into an argument with you; I know that there isn't much point. Which makes me sad. But in any case, please be aware that there are a lot of patriotic liberals and Democrats out here who don't hate you or America. In fact, we believe that what we advocate is BEST for America.
And, um, you might want to at least separate the "Don't insult me" sentence from the insulting one with another sentence or two. It will look less hypocritical that way. :D
-le sigh- I aslso said "I've taken my email off the display since people keep sending me hate-mail, whether from this site or not, I don't know, but ti doesn;t matter. Because, in my humble opinion, just because I have the opinion I do, doesn't mean I deserve to be cursed at, threatened, and yelled at incoherently. If you can CALMLY tell me your OPINIONS, I'd be happy to respond likewise." I'm a member of serveral other sites, not all of them advice sites, et all. I said I don't know if the people who send me hate maile were from this site or not, so I just took down the thing to my email on them all. Those people are obviously unhinged. There's such a thing as an unhinged Republican, too, imho. I do have liberal friends, but none of them are the kinds of people who would dare sink to the level or shouting mindless insults via e-mail to someone the don't know. Same thing with my conservative friends. Maybe I ought to add that to my profile? ;) I don't mind people debating with me 0in fact, I love it- but on all the other sites I've been to, school, et all, I'm pretty used to the average democrat chewing me out and calling me horrible names...the worst I think I ever try to call anyone is an unhinged physcopath who needs mental help...and I call most of my friends that on a daily basis. (don't get me wrong- I lose my temper, I have insulted people, but I almost always feel terrible about it after I've calmed down)
And I never said anyone there insulted me, but when it was clear I was the only republican, I didn't safe. Like a man standing at a mark, with the whole army ready to shoot at him...sure, the army might not shoot, but it can't be the most comfortable of situation, neh? It's the sort of thing that makes me uncomfortable, to be more or less alone in my opinions, so I said it was probably best if I left, before someone went crazy. Someone might decide..."Hmm..now's a good time to let that proverbial arrow fly" or such a thought might never occur to them, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable since I can't tell what they're thinking...
In any matter, I hope that...made some sort of sense...what with my tendancy to ramble on and on and on and on and on...lol.
Thanks for caring enough to write, though. It's really nice. ^_^
I've been to the dermatologists once, before and i few regrets of un asked questions that i thought of the day after (or weeks) i was wondering what some questions i should ask the derm, (besides that ones i have already) they be a few you asked some you witch you asked, and ect.
& by the way im going to a whole new derm and there giving me something new and stuff.
Would it be a good idea to write down the names of the products i currently use? I have bad acne and i want to regrets of un asked questions!.
I RATE HiGH!!
A good question to ask about skin medications would be what sort of side effects do they have? I, for example, am currently on Accutane for my acne. Let me tell you, this product works wonders! I have tried just about every other cream, pill, and facial scrub out there, and nothing has worked. But Accutane is God's way of saying "There is hope!"
However, there ARE some very serious side effects. Accutane can cause depression, weaken the muscles, and if you are female, WILL cause SEVERE birth defects if you get pregnant (Accutane users are required to sign a form stating they nderstand the risks if they have sex while on the medicine, etc etc, so no one can sue the company.), so you're also required to say you have two forms of birth control you are taking. (I used "abstinence for moral reasons, and abstinence for religious reasons). It can also cause mood swings and crying spells. Luckily, I have only suffered from very minor depression from the product, and since teenagers can have mood swings and depression easily anyways, I've noticied very little difference in that area.
...Anyways, the point of my rambling is this: You need to ask him about all the different medications they have to offer (not all derm's provide accutane), and the side effects of ALL the medications...
Then you and your derm need to decide (together) what medication you think is best for you, based partially on how drastic the result are on average from that medicine, and what ill side effects you can and cannot live without.

Any good way to get gum off of a retainer? I cannot give up gum chewing and usually forget to bring my case to school. At the end of the day it ends up stuck to it, and looks discusting. thanks
I too have retainers, and having to wear them all the time can really suck. But in my experience, you can take retainers off (which is the biggest advantage- they're sorta like removable braces, haha). Sooo...why did you chew gum with the retainers on? When I chew gum (I too never take my case with me) I find a paper towel or something to wrap them in, or just hold them. But I've gotten gum on mine, too. I have metal retainers, so I run them under the sink, with hot water. The hot water softens the gum up.
does anyone know any home remedies for scarred skin? i'm talking a few semi-dark pimple scars on my face...please help! thanks!
I don't know any home remedies, I'm afriad, but you can buy scar products at your local drug store. If you don't want to buy scar products, try going to Wal-Mart of Walgreens and buying Aquaphor. It's a brilliant skin product that can help soften scars (and skin in general) and works about 100 times better and faster than chapstick (in my personal experience). It's really amazing stuff- and it has so many uses that no one will know you're buying it for a scar. It looks a lot like vaseline, and comes in either a jar or a tube. just take a dab of it on your finger and massage it onto and into the skin you need it applied to. It sinks in relatively quickly, and is also a good moisturizer. I'm taking an acne medicine that dries my skin and makes my lips REALLY chapped, but I use Aquaphor and you can't even tell. :)

If a white person called a black person a "nigga" on the computer, is this some sort of discrimination, could that person get in any kind of trouble or anything like that?
Thank you.
I, personally, would say it is derogatory. Then again, I would say that anyone of ANY race calling ANYONE else by that name would be derogatory. A lot of people think it's okay for black's to call another black "nigga," but I view it as a cuss word that is not approproate for use by anyone at all. Whether the person is being discriminatory or not is based entirely upon the situation, as well as the context. If two people were fighting or arguing, etc. then yes, it probably was meant as a racist insult. But if to people were just chatting it up, then probably not. If the person say....just randomly called a stranger "nigga," it's really hard to tell- they could just be messing around, like "hey nigga, what's up?" or something, or they could be sayong it with spite. However, I doubt the person would get into any trouble unless it got reported or something. Like I said, it depends entirely on whatever direction the conversation was going before they spouted out the "n" word. If it's a friend of yours, then confront them, and ask them directly. If they weren't trying to be hateful, they might not have known it would upset you.
I hope I helped some
