about

You can ask me about ANYTHING, and I mean it. If I don't have an answer to give you, instead of making something up, I WILL find you somewhere to go where you will be able to find out what you need. My inbox is always open, and you are quite welcome to IM me on AIM. I think thats about all you need to know, but if you've got other questions...well...see above. =)

advice

does anybody know when/if the band Mcfly(from the movie just my luck) is comming to the united states or Michigan. (because Mcfly is from London, U.K?)

You can check the bands website to find out tour dates. So basically, google will answer your question but here is their website:

www.mcflyofficial.com

Other than Siberius, what music notation/composition software do you recommend? I'm in the market for something easy to use that works well. Links to free trials would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and yes, I have googled. I'm asking for personal experience, not just a lundry list of names.

:)

I don't have a WHOLE lot of experience with Guitar Pro, but from what I have worked with, its pretty nice. The one downfall it has is that it is meant to be more oriented with the guitar so you can't get rid of the TAB lines below the music staff. However, its got lots of neat perks.

www.guitarpro.com should be the website, if you google Guitar Pro, it should come up with several things as well.

What is the best version of DDR for PS2. I'm thinking about getting DDR Max 2, so is it any good? I know it's an older version but I don't care if it's old or new, I just want a good version. Help?

I have DDR Max 2. Thats the one in the ORANGE box. I also have regular DDR which is the one in the Purple box. My favorite one is DDR Max 2. You can unlock all the songs simply by playing at whatever level you are able to play at, unlike other DDR games where you have to beat certain songs at certain levels to unlock the rest. The songs on the game are also good, you won't get bored with them! Thats my suggestion.

Okay, so my older half sister and brother have planned this trip to Florida, 5 days in Disney World!!! I was really excited...until I found out two things...

1. My sister and brother might be bringing their side of the fmaily that I've never even met. Which includes parents and kids. (I do NOT like kids) I'll just feel like a blacksheep.
2. PANIC! AT THE DISCO is playing the SAME DAY I'll be GONE!! (San Diego, August 1st)

My mom has allowed me to choose whether or not to go. Should I stay and experience an awesome Panic! concert or spend 5 days in Disney World with people I don't really know????

I don't want any regrets...

P!ATD's live shows are crap. Now, I'm not a fan of them myself, but my friends are rabid about them, and they said that their live show is majorly dissapointing.

Disney World is amazing, though. Pick that one.

Anyone out there know a good guitar out there. I really only want to spend $500 at the most. I'll rate.

Everybody is going to reccomend Fender to you, and I bet its just because Fender has advertisements EVERYWHERE.

While they're good guitars, I'm going to offer you some alternatives.

Gibson is a very nice brand, but thier guitars are usually very expensive. Epiphone makes Gibson copies of guitars -- and Gibson endorses them.

I have an Austin brand guitar, two infact, and they've proven to be very nice guitars. My electric one is a copy of a Gibson SG. It sounds the same, but plays easier for me. I'm a tiny person, and the Austin brand is lighter -- Gibsons are hefty guitars. The only difference in looks is that it has dot inlays and the pick guard is only on one side of the strings.

I recommend Austin, it will well fit into your budget. You can check them out at austingtrs.com

i have a teal green metallic stratocaster with a white pickguard. here is the fender color chart so you can see what color the guitar is:
http://fender.com/resources/colors/
mine is number 45.
i'm looking to change the pickguard, and i'm leaning toward a white pearloid pickguard. do you think that this will look stupid? do you have any suggestions on a different pickguard?

It wouldn't look *bad* but I think its bordering on the edge of tacky. If I were you, I'd go with a metallic grey toned pickguard. Thats just a personal preference, I always thought tealish colors with the pearloid picguards looked terrible, the only place that belongs is the fret inlays.

Im a girl, so i already know i'll suck more at guitar then guys. But, i'd like to start getting into guitars because music is one of my passions. I have long slender fingers so will that be an advantage when playing guitar? Okay well my question is, i want to play the song "vermilion pt. 2" on guitar, and I think its acoustic. I looked up the tabs. It said acoustic i think. Well anyways i was looking up acoustic guitars on google, and i also looked up electric guitars. And acoustic guitars are ugly! So, whats the difference between acoustic and electric guitars? Electric looks easier, but i dont know much when it comes to guitar. Please let me know as much info as possible, from experience would be even better. Im a beginner (only played like a couple times and sucked). Thanks so much this is something i wanna get into. THANKS

I'm a girl. There seems to be a double standard against girls playing guitar or bass or drums, and that needs to be thrown away, so you don't need to say that "You'll suck more at guitar than guys" because its not true.

Anydirection, to answer your question, acoustic and electric guitars sound VERY different. "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against is played on an acoustic guitar. Most other rock songs are played on electric, you should be able to tell the difference. Not one is easier than the other, but I started out on an acoustic because you can just pick it up and play it, instead of having to learn about amps, and effect pedals, and the works. The only thing thats going to make you better is to pick up a guitar and practice, practice, practice. Just like with any other instrument, you're not going to learn it overnight.

Good luck! If you've got anymore guitar questions, then don't be shy to leave one in my inbox!

does anyone have any idea where to get a plain guitar pick, but in pearl style?? i need them by at least the 11th of Jan. the latest.

Any music store should have some, and especially stores like Guitar Center. I have a store called Nottlemanns here that I can get all that from, but I think its just a local thing. Anywho, your typical music store should sell them, usually up by the counter.

hey everyone

whats a good song out now?

The people who answered this question before me were void of all music taste.

And this question should've been taken somwhere like launch.yahoo.com or to the radio, but here are some of my favorite songs that are singles now. (Mind you I've got a..."diffrent" taste in music.)

Modern Swinger - The Pink Spiders
The Ghost Of You - My Chemical Romance
Loyalty - American Head Charge
Keine Lust - Rammstien
I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys
Silver and Cold - AFI

I could go on, but I won't. You can find the rest for yourself.

how do I tune my electric guitar.... I don't know sheet about it. Id get some lessons but I dont have the money right now.

If you search google for an Online Guitar Tuner, sites will come up that you can click on the note and it will sound for you, so you can tune your guitar to pitch.

What I usually do, is hit an "E" note on my piano, and tune my low E to it. Then if you hold Low E on the fifth fret, it should make an "A" which is the next string up. Then I tune the A string to match. I do the same thing all the way until I get to high "E". The only modification is that when you're tuning the "B" string, you have to hold the "G" string on the fourth fret instead of the fifth.

This is all assuming you know how to work the tuning pegs and such. If you don't know how to do that, leave a message in my inbox and I'll get back to you.

I also suggest going to taborama.com, on the left hand side you will see a bunch of links, and there are online guitar lessons and things to look at that can help you learn to play guitar.

My Chemical Romance - All I Want For Christmas Is You.

TEN BAZILLION TIMES BETTER THAN THE MARIAH CAREY

Does anyone know that song they play on the commercial for Zales Jewlers. It has the beat of Ice Ice Baby, but it says something like "Rachel, what are you doing to me?", or something like that. Thanks!

Under Pressure - by Queen and David Bowie

Also recently covered by My Chemical Romance and The Used - but on the commercial they play the origional version.

The words that you hear are "Pressure, pressing down on me" I think is the only lyrics you hear..but it would be

Pressure, pressing down on me, pressing down on you, no man ask for.

if they played the whole line.

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, Vanilla Ice stole the rhythm for Ice Ice Baby from Under Pressure. Not cool at all..but the song was a hit so noone cares.

does anyone know how to play guitar? if so can someone please tell me somewhere i can go like online to show me what a D chord looks like cuz me and my dad are getting confused!!!! thank you so much!!!!

www.taborama.com has nice tutorials, articles, tabs, lessons, and soforth. But a "D" chord would be played with your ring finger on the Second fret of high E, your middle finger on the Third fret of B, and your pointer finger on the second fret of G.

The tab for the D chord would look like this:

e--2---
b--3---
g--2---
d------
a------
E------

well I wanna download music so i got bear share i downloaded a couple of songs but then I heard that it gives viruses easy so i uninstalled it. Is that true?? Should I leave it that way or install it again. Or should I get limewire is that good?? or should I just not do either and get over it..??

5's for anything.

Any filesharing program has the ability to give you viruses. Most programs don't come with some sort of virus scanner, so you are getting files off of other people's computers, and they could possibly have viruses.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Limewire PRO might have a virus checker to come with it. But you have to pay for it.

Either way, both programs contain mostly illegal downloads, because you cannot obtain the license for the song or video or whatever you are downloading, so its not that great anyways.

I determined to find some new bands to like, I don't really want any mainstream bands just like, got-to-their-shows bands. I don't really, like much emo and I don't like any skater/incucbus/audioslave type music. I am into punkish music and music with synthesizers but not techno. My favorite artists are Bjork, Polyphonic Spree, Aquabats, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, Cranberries, Len, and Electric Light Orchestra. I am cool with Ska as well. Just give me a list of bands that I could listen to and I'll be satisfied.

Reggie and the Full Effect has synthesizers, and they..I mean...he...is freaking amazing. Its some techno, some punk, some metal, some...whatever the hell he made up, its great!

Does anyone know of any sites where I can find sweat shirts or hoodies of bands besides their own sites? Some of the bands I want are:

Underoath
Fall Out Boy
From First to Last
Hawthorne Heights
All-American Rejects
Taking Back Sunday

Those are just some. But if you know of any websites that you can buy band clothing from besides their own sites id greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much you guys!

The only site you're probably going to be able to find their merchandise outside of links off their own sites, is maybe hottopic.com That's the only place (at least around me) that sells band tees.
