Yes, Bearshare is known to give viruses. So my suggestion is to get something else. I have Limewire and I haven't had any problems with it yet ! ♥ Hope this helped !!

bearshare will cause less viruses than limewire. either will give you them, bearshare just has a lower risk.

I had Bearshare and I got tons of viruses so it's true. I always get Limewire and I never had a problem with it. If you think you might, get Ares. It's really good!!

I had limewire and I liked it, no viruses, But it like randomly quit working sometimes, and then It stopped all together, so that sucked.

Now I have Morpheus. No problems yet.

I did get a virus from WinMx though... But other than the virus, it was the best, but now they charge

Well i have limewire and i haven't gotten viruses from it yet. I recommend you use whichever you prefer, but get an anituvirus first. That should solve any problems you have. Also, run it every few days to make sure your computer isnt infected.

Any filesharing program has the ability to give you viruses. Most programs don't come with some sort of virus scanner, so you are getting files off of other people's computers, and they could possibly have viruses.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Limewire PRO might have a virus checker to come with it. But you have to pay for it.

Either way, both programs contain mostly illegal downloads, because you cannot obtain the license for the song or video or whatever you are downloading, so its not that great anyways.
