Broke up two weeks before our 4 year anniversary. I love her with every ounce of my heart but she dumped me cause I was too non chalant and not clearly showing my love and appreciation for her and everything we built together. Its been 16 months since then and besides an occassional what's up/how's it going, via text, there is no communication. But I just learned she still wears my promise ring and another ring I bought her on her left hand and she still has been talking to my family. We keep our conversations short cause I'm too scared of bringing us up and her shattering my heart again. But her actions are confusing. She always did contradict herself. I just want us to work this out and be together but she is very hard to figure out. Am I reading too much into her actions and just need give up on us or am I not realizing that she still needs time to finally come to me and work this out for the better?

She wouldn't wear the rings if she didn't still care for you. If she was over the relationship and you, she probably would have given it back or got rid of it. Sometimes random break ups happen and people get back together. It depends on the situation. Are you willing to fix it? If she dumped you because you were being too nonchalant, then you definitely shouldn't be nonchalant about the break up if you want to get back together. As stupid as it sounds, a lot of girls break up with their boyfriends so that they "fight" for them and become more affectionate. It's a stupid thing to do, but some believe it works. You need to keep open communication with her and see what it is she really wants. Tell her you want to fix it but if she really doesn't want to be together then you'll have to move on. She needs to know you won't just wait for her.
