Hello, I'm a sophmore in highschool, actually just finished my sophmore year. I want to graduate a year early and my guidance counselor said i could because i only need to more classes after next year and we can fit them into my schedule. My mom approves of me graduating early because she cant see me being in highschool for 2 more years because my maturity is already that of someone graduating college. My counselor told me i should write a letter explaining why i think i should graduate next year and my circumstances. I dont know what to say in this letter. Its not so much i NEED to do it early but highly desirable and im in a good position with grades and advanced test scores. I already thought of getting my teachers to write a statement on whether they believe i am ready to graduate next year or not but whatelse should put in the letter. The more details the better. Please and thank you!

Just explain your reasoning behind it. Be honest. Maybe talk about how graduating early might bring you challenges in the future, and what you would do to face those challenges. Such as being a year younger than all other people entering college. Explain why you think you have the maturity to do this. Maybe give an anecdote about a time your maturity really showed.

I think asking your teachers is a good idea. They'll give you honest feedback.
