I am twenty-one, soon to be twenty-two, and currently work in a loan servicing department. I truly enjoy my job, as well as college, in which I am reaching my last year to receive my degree. I am an outgoing person whom loves to have fun, be with my best friends and family, go shopping and most importantly, helping others.
Helping others has always been my passionate, from a young age I knew that I wanted to help other people and be a great influence in making someone's life turn for the better. Hi, 15, female. My best friend is a guy (same age) and he has been my friend since third grade. I am now in tenth. All of my friends says he likes me but I just look at it as he is being friendly, ya know, seven years can do that to a person. Some girls come up to me in the hallway at school and ask if I'm dating him or they'll say "I wish I had a guy look at me the way __ looks at you" I guess I like him too, he's cute and he's always there for me, he's a great person. He struggles with no confidence and low self esteem so he isn't the happiest person around but every time I talk to him he smiles and laughs. We have ninth period together and we were watching a movie today and he has restless leg syndrome so his legs were bouncing all over the place and I was just laughing and he turns around and goes "don't laugh it's just a disease!" then he smiled really big. He also has one of my animal rubber bands, even when he went on for about ten minutes the night before he took it from me how much he hates bracelets, but he took one anyway. He also does this dumb t shirt over top a long sleeve shirt or a t shirt and a sweatshirt, so I told him a few days ago that he needs to wear t shirts, that his long sleeve/sweatshirt thing is lame, so now every ninth period he takes his sweatshirt off and just wears his t shirt. He helps me with my homework whenever I ask him. I'll tell him about my life problems and I'll apologize later for dumping everything on him and he just tells me "Don't apologize to me, I want to listen." Then every few days I bring him in his favorite pack of crackers for his lunch. We text each other pretty much every night and when he leaves, he always says cya *my name* I heard when a guy says your name a lot, he likes you. He pretty much knows everything about me and he tells me things he doesn't even tell his guy best friend. Please tell me if you think he likes me, I know it's not a lot, I'm drawing a blank right now. Thanks! (link)

As you mentioned, over seven years things can be very friendly without meaning anything more, however, it can also mean a love or a very strong like has grown over the years as well. From reading your description, he certainly seems to like you a lot. Maybe you should consider talking to him about it, and asking him if there is anything more between you two than friends. Regardless, you have a great best friend and you both are lucky to have each other -- my assumption is that he does like you as more than a friend, but as I said, regardless, you have a wonderful friend for life it seems. :)
